One count of misdemeanor menacing
Two weekends jail time and one year of unsupervised probation

Jay Elowsky owns Pasta Jay's Restaurant in Boulder, Colorado and he is a close friend and business partner of John Ramsey. Ramsey and Elowsky formed a corporation together, now called P.J.'s Property Group LLC and formerly called the Coates House LLC, as part of a property deal.

Elowsky was arrested on February 10, 1997 and after several hearing delays he was charged with one count of misdemeanor menacing on Tuesday, July 1, 1997 in Boulder County Court.

Elowsky threatening two men, Warren Schmelzer and Ira Haimann who he believed were reporters across the street from his home while John and Patsy Ramsey were staying there. Reports were that Elowsky was screaming obscenities and carrying a baseball bat when he approached two men in their car and ordered them away from his property. It turned out that the two men were not reporters but engineers and one of them followed Elowsky back to his car where Elowsky had a gun but apparently didn't use it.

Pasta Jay Elowsky got one year of unsupervised probation, had to write an apology to the victims, pay a fine, turn in the pistol found in his car and continue anger counseling.
