“Why is Drew Peterson Tranferring $250,000 to his son Steve?”

"Live with Dan Abrams" Update:

DP's attorney JB is with DA tonight.

DA: Why did DP transfer $250,000 to his son Steve following the disappearance of his wife SP? I'm going to ask his attorney. DP's attorney asked the judge for a special prosecutor to look into GJ leaks--I don't think it's gonna happen, but we'll ask him about that too. More bad news for DP today--the judge said LE can continue to keep his positions. The search of the canal continues due to a phone call between CC and DP the night SP went missing.

JB: There was a transfer of over $200,000, I don't know the exact amount. DP became concerned that SP would access this money after she ran away.

DA: It would be a good thing is she did and then he would know she was alive.

DA: So it's more important to your client that he keep his money than find out if his wife is alive.

JB: He did this a few days after she disappeared. I think this action on DP's part supports his contention that she ran away with someone else.

DA: Not quite following that, but what about the request for a special prosecutor?

JB: The GJ is a branch of the court and these leaks are happening almost every day. The SA gives the information to others to pursue and the leaks are coming from some more inexperienced officers apparently. I feel like I have a seat on the GJ with all that has been coming out.

DA: This happens in every high profile case. Things come out --it happens. You are not getting a special prosecutor. There is no way that will be happening. If it does happen, I'll apologize to you, but I don't think it's going to happen.

JB: Wow. OK. The SA seems to be concerned . . .

DA: You opened up a can of worms with the accusation that SP was having a relationship with the pastor. DP sounds like he is sliming every guy SP has ever had a relationship with.

JB: It now appears that the pastor is an honorable man and is dedicated to his wife. We are talking about the pastor's statements and actions. Should he have been counselling a woman that was this infatuated with him?

DA: Bottom line, I think this is a slime game by your client. Thank you for coming on the program.
