Peterson Lawyer: Police Haven't Pursued Stacy Lead

Drew Peterson's lawyer says state police haven't made a serious attempt to follow up on a possible lead in Stacy Peterson's disappearance.

A sighting of Stacy Peterson in Peoria?

Drew Peterson's lawyer Joel Brodsky says a woman who says she's seen Stacy before in Peoria left him this voice mail, claiming to have seen Stacy near a homeless shelter. "I saw her at 3:15 in the afternoon. I didn't speak to her again. When I saw her, I stepped back. I walked over near her, looked her straight in the face, and I walked off." Attorney Brodsky says state police aren't treating it seriously. "All they did was call the shelter where the person identified seeing Stacy, and ask the person whether Stacy Peterson had registered, which is not a serious attempt to follow up on the lead, by any imagination." A state police spokesman says all tips are forwarded to the investigative team, and that all are "thoroughly followed up on."
