SUPPLEMENT #9 - INCIDENT REPORT (07/28/08):

Narrative

On July 23rd, 2008, I received a tip concerning the possible where abouts of Caylee Anthony. I was asked to follow up on this particular tip. The tipster, Wanda Wery, reported she had seen Caylee on July 2nd, 2008, at the Orlando International Airport boarding a plane.

At 1100 hours, I called and spoke with Ms. Wery. She said on July 2nd, 2008, she and her famJly were scheduled on a flight from Orlando to Atlanta via AirTran Airways. The flight left at approximately 1830 hours. Ms. Wery said prior to boarding the flight, a young child approached her son, Nicholas Hunt. They were transporting a dog and the child wanted to pet the dog. The child identified herself as "Caylee." Ms. Wery said she was with an adult female. She could not recall the female's name. Ms. Wery also said the child and adult female boarded the same flight as Ms. Wery and her family. I asked Ms. Wery if she would be able to meet with Deputy Stephen Fusco for a composite sketch. Ms. Wery told me she had not really seen the adult female's face and so did not believe she could complete a sketch. She said her son, Nicholas, had seen the female better than she had. I asked her again if she and her son would meet with Deputy Fusco for the sketch. She said she could not come to Orlando but would be willing to meet with him in Leesburg. I then made arrangements for her to meet Deputy Fusco in

Incident Report

ORANGE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE

Leesburg at 1500 hours to complete a composite sketch of the adult female.

At 1340 hours, I called Detective Hall with Orlando Police Department. Detective Hall works at Orlando International Airport. I asked for his assistance in determining if Caylee was listed as a passenger on Ms. Wery's flight. I also called for assistance obtaining video surveillance of the areas surrounding the gate Ms. Wery's flight left from. Detective Hall said he would contact AlrTran Airways and call me back. A short time later, I received a call from Detective Hall. He had me speak with Sebastian from AirTran. We were able to determine the flight number for Ms. Wery's flight, flight 862 which departed Orlando to Atlanta at 1758 hours on July 2nd, 2008. I was told the only child listed on the flight with a ticket was a seven year old male. No one was listed on the flight with the first name of Caylee or Zenaida and no one with the last name Anthony, Fernandez, or Gonzalez. Detective Hall told me he was still trying to obtain the video surveillance and would contact me later with the results.

At 1820 hours, I called Ms. Wery. I attempted to verify flight 862 was the correct flight she had traveled on. Ms. Wery told me she could not recall the exact flight number but she was certain it had left at 1830 hours. Ms. Wery also verified she and her son had completed the composite sketch. She and Nicholas also completed written statements and these were collected by Deputy Fusco. I then called Detective Hall. He said they were still attempting to obtain the video surveillance but were having difficulty. I arranged to meet with him at 0730 hours on July 24th, 2008 to view the video.

On July 24th, 2008, at 0730 hours, I met with Detective Hall. I was told the video surveillance could not be obtained. The last stored date for video was July 8th, 2008. The date needed had already been erased. I then met with an AirTran supervisor who provided me with a flight manifest that contained names only of passengers on flight 862. I was also given the information there were two children listed on the flight, one was a lap child (Anna Bell Taylor, date of birth May 1st, 2007). The other was a seven year old male, Zayid Bolds. I was told to obtain additional information on passengers, I would need to contact AirTran headquarters and supply a subpoena. I then called AirTran headquarters and spoke with Phyllis Jones. She told me what information would be needed in the subpoena in order to obtain the addresses and phone numbers for the passengers. I obtained a subpoena for this information and it was provided to Ms. Jones.

At approximately 1030 hours, I contacted Ms. Wery and arranged to meet with her and Nicholas at the Leesburg Police Department for a recorded statement at 1130 hours. Detective Mike Erickson and I interviewed Nicholas first. This was done away from Ms. Wery. Nicholas said he remembers the girl who came up to him in the airport saying her name was "Caylee Marie." He said he could not remember her last name. He also provided a physical description of her. The only clothing he could recall was blue "crocs." He also described the adult female she was with and said this female did not really act like a parent. We then interviewed Ms. Wery. She said she remembers asking the little girl for her name and the little girl said "Caylee Marie Antony." She then held up three fingers and said she was three but changed this to two and a half. Ms. Wery provided information concerning the conversation she had with the child and the adult female. She also provided a clothing description for the adult female. Ms. Wery said she was certain she saw the child and female board her flight and she believes they sat in row ten or eleven.

After completing the interview with Nicholas and Ms. Wery, Ms. Jones called me. She said she was still compiling the list of data for the passengers. Ms. Jones said she would be able to overnight express the list to me this same day. The names of both children on the flight and the adults they flew with was provided, as well as their addresses. This information was forwarded to Agent Nick Savage with the Federal Bureau of Investigation in order for that agency to contact and verify the identities of the chiJdren.
