5.
6. (Inaudible talking)
7. (DETECTIVE EDWARDS)
8. Q. You need to get that?
9. A. No, I flipped it, there's a couple of calls I might need to get though.
10. Well actually.....
11. Q. Go, go ahead if you.....
12. A. Good morning.
13. Q. 8/4/08
14. A. Yes.
15. Q. 2008.
16. (One side of Cindy on a phone call)
17. A. Hey Scott I'm fine honey um, I'm a little concerned about this lady not
18. getting a, a follow up like she should be. Okay. Uh huh (Affirmative).
19. Okay but I thought (inaudible) was being handled by you, right, you
20. know, your authorities. Okay.
21. Q. What time you got?
22. A. Okay.
23. (HUSSEY)

1. (DETECTIVE EDWARDS)
2. Q. Yelp (inaudible).
3. A. Okay. Uh huh (affirmative). Well we're trying. We're trying but it's,
4. it's very frustrating though. Okay. No it's not. Okay. Alright. No I'm
5. not. No he's in another room. Okay Scott thanks. Alright. Uh huh
6. (Affirmative). Bye.
7. (Cindy's phone call ended)
8. Q. What you got?
9. A. No one's doing a fucking thing!
10. Q. What you need?
11. A. I need someone to pay attention to Caylee that's missing. I need
12. someone to actually follow up on someone that has called in.
13. Q. Was that the FBI you were just talking to?
14. A. Yeah the....
15. Q. (Inaudible) out of state.
16. A. This is a Georgia tip that came in...
17. Q. Here. Let me see it.
18. (DETECTIVE HUSSEY)
19. Q. That's not the one from Camden County is it, from uh, on, on uh, I-95
20. at the uh, exit 1?
21. A. I don't know what exit and um, she called her local authorities, she,
22. this is the one that was at the restaurant.
23. (DETECTIVE EDWARDS)
24. Q. This is the one Yu, Yuri discussed the other day.
25. A. Yeah.

2

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. Q. Okay.
2. A. It's this lady, her husband who is an ER physician, so pretty
3. creditable, her mother, her sister, sat across from Caylee for an
4. hour....
5. Q. Okay.
6. A. ....at this restaurant. This was on the 21st, she called her local
7. authorities at 1:30a.m. on the 22nd, finally got through to the tip line
8. here in the morning. Nothing since then, she contacted the Florida, I
9. mean the Georgia FBI last week.
10. Q. Uh huh (Affirmative)
11. A. Has not heard back. She called them again. No one has gotten
12. anything from her. So what's the deal?
13. Q. (Inaudible)
14. A. I mean....
15. (DETECTIVE HUSSEY)
16. We can't, we can't speak for them, I don't know....
17. (DETECTIVE EDWARDS)
18. Q. Who's this right here?
19. A. She's the one that was um, at the gas station outside of uh, Sunny
20. Breeze or whatever which was on the 17th.
21. Q. Georgia.
22. A. Georgia, these are both the Georgia ones.
23. Q. Okay. Alright I will get back to you on this today.
24. A. Thank you.
25. Q. Okay.

3

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. A. Now...
2. Q. I will do, I will find out what's been done or what's....
3. A. Here's the, here's the deal, this is the pont that is so frustrating for
4. George and I and Lee. You know um, it's not just one person cause
5. people keep saying that these people, these people out there they're
6. trying to help, are out there for themselves. This Wanda Werry from
7. Leesburg that was the witness from the, the airport, she made a
8. statement that when the guy came to her, to meet her at McDonald's
9. mind you, to take a sketch composite of this person that had Caylee,
10. her and her son met them at McDonald's, which I find is very
11. unprofessional. After he was done he says "I don't know why we're
12. doing this anyway the child's dead." Leans over to her and says that.
13. (DETECTIVE HUSSEY)
14. Q. What agency was this?
15. A. This was um, supposed to be from, a representative from the sheriff's
16. department.
17. Q. Here?
18. A. (No audible response)
19. Q. Up there?
20. A. (Inaudible)
21. (DETECTIVE EDWARDS)
22. Q. I think I overheard something about....
23. A. It was....
24. Q. John Allen....
25.

4

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. A. John Allen, want to call, I spoke with John Allen, it was coordinated
2. through this department so I'm not sure if it was a local Leesburg,
3. OPD or whatever. The other thing is....
4. Q. Let me....
5. A. Let me just tell you one more thing while it's on my train of thought.
6. Q. I wanna, I wanna come back to....
7. A. Right, on my train of thought.
8. Q. I'm gonna, okay, hold it.
9. A. I got, I got an email the other day from somebody that saw Caylee
10. last Saturday in Pennsylvania at a park with her son. They called the
11. park security, the park security started looking. She made a 911
12. phone call, the local police 911 dispatcher said, "We all have reason
13. to believe this child is dead but I'll take your statement anyway."
14. That's the kind of bullshit, and I'm gonna say bullshit, that the public
15. has out there. And you wonder why we're so frustrated.
16. (DETECTIVE HUSSEY)
17. Q. I understand.
18. A. No you don't, you don't have a granddaughter that's missing, no you
19. don't.
20. Q. I've been doing this a long time....
21. A. No but....
22. Q. ....I know exactly...
23. A. ....but you don't understand....
24. Q. ....what the....
25.

5

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. A. ....how George and I and Lee are, what we're going through right
2. now.
3. Q. Yes we, we do.
4. A. We hear stuff like that and we don't have faith, I'm sorry. I....
5. (DETECTIVE EDWARDS)
6. Q. Let me, let me....
7. A. You know my husband used to be a cop.
8. (DETECTIVE HUSSEY)
9. Q. Sure.
10. A. All his friends are still cops. I have utmost respect for them but right
11. now I have no faith in anybody except the guy above.
12. Q. Right.
13. (DETECTIVE EDWARDS)
14. Q. Let me shed some light on the Wanda thing for you, what's Wanda's
15. last name again?
16. A. Weir.
17. Q. spelled.
18. A. I think its W E I R Y, Weiry or something like that, I have it at home.
19. Q. I actually sat in when he fielded that, John did, and I watched John
20. call who I believe was this woman and, and her, her conversation and
21. once again this would have to be from John cause he talked to her
22. over the phone but I'm not sure, completely sure that what,
23. unfortunately what maybe was communicate to you, was actually the
24. events that occurred out there. Whether or not it happened in the
25. McDonald's um, I'm gonna refrain from comment on that because I

6

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. didn't orchestrate that or oversee that event okay. But at any rate I
2. will get with John Allen and Yuri today when we're done and we'll go
3. through these four topics. Do you have the phone number for PA, do
4. you know any more about the Pennsylvania incident?
5. A. No I didn't get a phone number.
6. Q. Okay.
7. A. It was a, it was a....
8. Q. Or a, a jurisdiction?
9. A. Yeah the, I can....
10. Q. Okay give us a holler on that.
11. A. ...I can get you the um, the city.
12. Q. We'll definitely, we'll definitely, I'll talk about.....
13. A. Cause there should be a 911 call too.
14. Q. Okay. I'll follow up on this today and get back with you.
15. A. Do you understand my frustration?
16. Q. Like I said the other day to you, no but I feel for it. I've never been in
17. the position of being (inaudible).
18. A. But I'm just saying when this is that way from day one, from day one.
19. Q. Yuri the other day um, to be honest with you, my attempt just to get a
20. time line and put it with all the other ones that you know, to make
21. sense of everything so I can neatly type it. Um it was difficult the
22. other day as you and Yuri talked about um, other topics I....
23. (Inaudible)
24. Q. ...we got off task.
25. A. Right.

7

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. Q. So anyhow, these little things even though you believe them now to
2. be um, not true, they, like you guys have said in the past, there's
3. answers in there somewhere....
4. A. Right.
5. Q. ....from what she's saying.
6. A. That's what she told us, remember my conversations I had with Yuri
7. last month mom.
8. Q. So me, like hearing these things right here that the hospital and the,
9. all this other stuff, I was very, very eager to finish this line but that's
10. not the way that, that the, the interview ended.
11. A. I know.
12. Q. So if we could pick back up maybe on um, the 25th, Zannie stayed
13. over at the hospital in Tampa, that's pretty signicant right there. But
14. before I go over there half cocked and go start researching
15. information trying to see what it is she was saying I wanna, I wanna
16. ratchet down the rest of that. Is that okay with you?
17. A. Uh huh (Affirmative)
18. Q. Okay I'll give you a minute to collect your thoughts. You with me?
19. A. Yeah.
20. Q. Okay. To re, to relive what we talked about before....
21. A. Yeah I know where we're at.
22. Q. Yeah this conference in, in....
23. A. Right, she stayed over an extra night here.
24. Q. She, she was at the....
25.

8

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. A. Yeah and they, that night it was um, Amy and her rommate, not Amy
2. God....
3. Q. Caysee, Amy....
4. A. No not Amy, Amy's not it.
5. Q. Okay.
6. A. I was thinking about the other (inaudible). Um, Caysee, Julia,
7. Annabelle, Caylee, and then when Zannie got out of the hospital her
8. roommate Jennifer, they all stayed at the hotel where Caysee and
9. Julia were supposed to be staying. When they all came home,
10. excuse me, the next morning.
11. Q. Uh huh (Affirmative).
12. A. That's what she is saying.
13. Q. Caysee, Julia, Annabelle, Caylee, Zannie and there was another
14. roommate that you mentioned.
15. A. Jennifer.
16. Q. Jennifer.
17. A. And Jennifer took Zannie home from my understanding, her
18. roommate.
19. Q. Did she ever say what kind of car Zannie had that she totaled?
20. A. I can't remember; all I know is she got a silver 2008 Ford Focus as a
21. replacement is what she told us. Very specific.
22. Q. 2008 Ford....
23. A. Focus, silver. And she was very specific and, and said that over and
24. over again so I think that is probably the....
25. Q. Had some significance.

9

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. A. Yeah.
2. Q. Okay.
3. A. And that's what she got after, after (inaudible). I mean that's what
4. she's supposed to be driving currently or whatever.
5. Q. Came back home, Jennifer brought her back home....
6. A. On the 27th.
7. Q. Uh....
8. A. Yeah.
9. Q. This is when Jeff Hopkins comes in town.
10. A. Right.
11. Q. And then she said she spent that 27th....
12. A. Through the 30th.
13. Q. ...28th, 29th, and 30th with Jeff Hopkins. Did she ever talk
14. about running out of gas at that time...
15. A. Un unh (Negative)
16. Q. ...with her car, no. no mention of gas?
17. A. Nope. Which would have been when she went to the Amscot.
18. Q. Right. Well my question on that Amscot thing is; I know the
19. manager's adamant that when they showed up at 7:00 in the morning
20. the car was there, I'm just curious as to....
21. A. (Inaudible)
22. Q. When it was dropped off at this particular....
23. A. Did they say there was a note or anything on the car?
24. Q. I, I don't, I wouldn't have that answer.
25.

10

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. A. Okay cause Caysee told me after I you know, actually after we got
2. the car, I asked her, I says, you know I says, "Why didn't you go
3. back," she says, "I put a note on it, I had every intentions of going
4. back."
5. Q. Amscot put a note on the car?
6. A. She said she put a note on it before....
7. Q. Oh she did.
8. A. ...she left, that she was gonna be back, right back to get the car. So
9. (inaudible).
10. Q. Okay. And this is the same Jeff Hopkins that had the child at the
11. nanny also....
12. A. No introduced.
13. Q. Okay.
14. A. Jeff is the one that introduced her to the nanny.
15. Q. So I would think on these, the 26th and 27th while I'm looking there
16. should be some phone numbers cause is she's setting up this
17. meeting she would have been communiating with him somehow
18. would you think?
19. A. Or the boyfriend cause Jeff was the one in her phone before as the
20. boyfriend.
21. Q. Jeff was the boyfriend.
22. A. Well when she (throat cleared), a couple years ago when I saw him,
23. his name and number in her phone she had it under boyfriend. She
24. actually had a photo at that time so I'm just, I don't wanna speculate
25.

11

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. but I was wondering if she refers to Jeff as her current boyfriend,
2. whoever her boyfriend is at that time.
3. Q. Okay.
4. A. Are we recording today?
5. Q. Yeah.
6. A. And again no sleep, no food, so....
7. Q. Okay.
8. A. ....I'm trying to remember best I can, I can't say for facts that
9. everything I say is (laughter) 100%, it's to the best of my knowledge.
10. (DETECTIVE HUSSEY)
11. Q. Certainly understandable.
12. (DETECTIVE EDWARDS)
13. Q. It's...
14. A. Well, I mean just....
15. (DETECTIVE HUSSEY)
16. Q. Believe me I understand.
17. (DETECTIVE EDWARDS)
18. Q. And then for me to be able to type anything up....
19. A. Well things have....
20. Q. ...about it later...
21. A. ...the whole....
22. Q. ....I have to be able to go back and listen.
23. A. ...things a blur, I know.
24.
25.

12

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. Q. Yeah. Same, same reason. Nothing other than, now you said there
2. was a lot of communication over the phone during all this because
3. you were, you know, asking about the child...
4. A. Uh huh (Affirmative).
5. Q. ...and, and, Caylee. Anything over this weekend where she said she
6. may have gone or done with Jeff? Still no...
7. A. No from my understanding they were getting together and she also
8. said that Zannie, we talked, we started to talk about that, Zannie went
9. there and he says well how could she go because she had the
10. concussion and all that. Zannie, she said Zannie was there um, with
11. them on the 28th cause they were kinda reminiscing and they all kinda
12. got together, sat around the apartment or the hotel room and shot the
13. breeze. So Zannie was present at that time was what she said. And
14. I don't know how significant that is but if I''m listening to her story I
15. can't recall whether or not she said Zannie was there Sunday or
16. Monday but I know for a fact she said it on that Friday and you know.
17. That they were all gonna spend the night and...
18. Q. At Zannie's.
19. A. ...spend the day. No at the hotel, Jeff's hotel at hard Rock.
20. Q. Jeff's hotel.
21. A. And that was at Hard Rock.
22. Q. 29th and the 30th she continues to spend that time frame with Jeff.
23. A. yeah and then....
24. Q. Any conversations....
25. A. ...from the 30th through well then we'd wanna look at July.

13

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. Q. Right.
2. A. the 30th she said Jennifer, Zannie's roommate was watching Caylee
3. cause Zannie couldn't. And Jennifer had Caylee at the park while
4. Caysee was working. And that was part of my frustration cause I was
5. off that week and I told her....
6. Q. You could have watched her.
7. A. ...I could have watched Caylee.
8. Q. Right. What park did she say she had her at?
9. A. Um Universal. She said they were doing character breakfasts and
10. she was taking her around the park. And that was pretty much the
11. whole week.
12. Q. So she was hanging out with Jennifer that whole week?
13. A. Yelp that's what she said.
14. Q. Cause your're on vacation that week.
15. Yelp I'm on vacation that week and I could a watched Caylee the
16. whole week. And I don't remember specifics on Tuesday or
17. Wednesday, I just know it's the same story every day. She, she was
18. working....
19. Q. You talk to her almost every day here you think?
20. A. Yeah at some point. I know she started texting me a lot more in June
21. and July. If I had you know access to what those were I could
22. remember conversations that we had that was (inaudible).
23. Q. Does you phone archive that?
24. A. I don't know.
25. Q. Do you want us to see if we can flip that information out of that?

14

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. A. I don't, I don't know if it archives or or not. I mean...
2. Q. Well the techs are here, I mean if we, if you want us to look um, we
3. can take advantage of that time.
4. A. Yeah I mean I think it might jog some of the things that I might
5. remember.
6. (DETECTIVE HUSSEY)
7. Q. Sure.
8. (DETECTIVE EDWARDS)
9. Q. Let me walk that down there real quick if you don't mind.
10. A. Okay.
11. Q. Then while were're in here doing that they can be, if they, did you
12. notice if Stenger's door was open?
13. (DETECTIVE HUSSEY)
14. Q. I did not. Want me to go check?
15. A. How long does that take?
16. (DETECTIVE EDWARDS)
17. Q. Um yeah.
18. (DETECIVE HUSSEY)
19. Q. I'll take the phone.
20. (DETECTIVE EDWARDS)
21. Q. It should, just ask him how long he thinks. That might, they might not
22. even have that model in the hardware.
23. A. Well I need my phone back, I don't want...
24. (DETECTIVE HUSSEY)
25. Q. (Inaudible), we'll bring it right back.

15

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. A. Well....
2. (DETECTIVE EDWARDS)
3. Q. (Inaudible).
4. A. Just like my computer and my (laughter) everything...
5. Q. You'll have it back shortly. I just, if we can get those uh, text
6. messages um, and extend that curiosity to you.
7. A. Well I though you guys had Caysee's text messages.
8. Q. We have a great deal of them yeah but the ones....
9. A. I was gonna say, I mean if you had specifically....
10. Q. This week...
11. A. ...from here through June I can certainly tell you what we were talking
12. about and what, my phone, because they would be related to any
13. phone conversations that might not show up. Cause you can't, you
14. don't have access to phone conversations, right just records.
15. Q. If, if we had, right. Well the...
16. A. I mean don't you just have the dialed numbers?
17. Q. There's also some issues with text. We don't necessarily when we
18. do subpoenas get the text. They don't you know unless that saved
19. somewhere. So most of the luck we're having, like let's say Amy's
20. phone for instance, we were, the luck that we had the there was
21. some way some how her phone saved 2800.
22. A. Wow.
23. Q. Text messages. I didn't know you can communicate with that many
24. people that often without you know actually calling them. But um,
25. maybe, if they have luck with that today...

16

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. A. Yeah.
2. Q. ...maybe if you go through that it'll spark your memory.
3. A. I have rarely texted before cause I don't have one, I didn't have text
4. messaging on my phone number one bill. But I noticed that Caysee
5. started texting me more because it seemed like she was having a
6. hard time explaining things to me when I'd ask her about Calee. So
7. it seems like it, she would cut me off and be more short and, and use
8. the text. So I mean that, that was more in June and July. Like I said I
9. hardly ever used my text before and I text Lee now and stuff but.
10. Q. So it was harder for her to make up locations the child my
11. be?
12. A. I don't know, I'm not saying that I'm just, I don't know. It just seemed
13. like it was more evident, I mean June and July I was getting more
14. texting from her and less actual phone conversations with her.
15. Q. Okay and the 3rd you say you actually visited Universal Studios...
16. A. Uh huh (Affirmative).
17. Q. ...in an effort to go pick up the child, Caylee not there and you spoke
18. with her on the phone that day. Friday, anything on Friday stand out?
19. A. Friday was the 4th of July, we spoke a couple of times um, as to whether
20. or not we were gonna get to take Caylee to see fireworks. And
21. Caysee wasn't sure if they were coming back and then...
22. Q. From where?
23. A. She was supposed to be still in Jacksonville. Cause on Thursday is
24. when she told me she was in Jacksonville and that she'd actually
25. been in Jacksonville all week. That's what she said. She was with

17

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. Jeff all week. Then she told me that they were um, trying to work
2. things out to be a family. She also told me that um, during this, from
3. here out that um, there was a possibility that when Jeff moved back
4. to Orlando that they'd be moving in together. So again I'm not sure if
5. Jeff's the actual person but the name but might be a person that she
6. was talking to about that. Jeff was supposed to be coming home on
7. Saturday. He was gonna follow Caysee.
8. Q. From?
9. A. Was that the weekend she told me he (inaudible). Um oh gosh, there
10. was one weekend she was with him, maybe it's this weekend. This is
11. the weekend they were supposed to come home I think. That didn't
12. happen.
13. Q. And so they stayed in Jacksonville this whole week here too you
14. think?
15. A. That's what she said. In fact, I was under the impression she was in
16. Jacksonville the day we found the car, that was the whole point, she
17. was supposed to be in Jacksonville.
18. Q. This whole 1, 2, and a half....
19. A. Yeah. Yeah this is, this is right. They were supposed, I think, there
20. was one point that she said she didn't have her car because Jeff took
21. it to get fixed. It wasn't, I don't think I said that in June (inaudible).
22. We didn't mention that at all.
23. Q. No that's the first you've...
24. A. Oh okay.
25. Q. So she said Jeff took her car to get it fixed.

18

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. A. Jeff took her car to get it fixed. It, it was during a weekend so it had
2. to be this weekend. She told me un on, I think it was a Sunday
3. morning, that when she got up her car was missing, that Jeff had
4. taken it to get fixed at this guy. And she was gonna have her oil
5. changed and her brakes done and when she told me on Sunday or
6. Monday, one of these two days is that it took longer to get the car
7. back because her um, gas sensor needed to be replaced and she
8. needed, the car needed to be in the shop. Yeah this is the weekend
9. that Jeff was gonna follow her home, the 12th. So it was just 1, 2,
10. (inaudible), put an arrow down to the 12th for this statement right
11. here.
12. Q. So he's supposed to come home this day?
13. A. He was gonna follow her. He was gonna pack his stuff here and
14. follow her home on the 12th from Jacksonville. And then on the 13th
15. Caysee made the excuse that her, his mom was getting married and
16. that's why they didn't come home. Yeah. She told me she picked,
17. they picked up her car on the 10th. She got her car back the 10th,
18. somewhere in here, the 10th or the 11th.
19. Q. They being Jeff and...
20. A. Jeff and Caysee. They were out to dinner and they were gonna go
21. pick up the car. And it was funny because on the 10th she told me
22. that she got her car back and they were gonna come home on the
23. 12th. So I didn't but her the entire day on the 11th and then she
24. called me somewhere between 8 and 9:00 at night and said, "You
25. haven't called me all day," and I says, "Well what's the point Caysee,

19

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. you told me you're coming home tomorrow so why should I bug you,"
2. something like that. Cause it was, she thought it was odd that I
3. hadn't called her all day and I purposely didn't call her because you
4. know I was tired of getting excuses. So she called me, I think you
5. know we'll probably be able to tell. If that's the right time then on the
6. 11th that I didn't call her, she called me. I may have called her back
7. afterwards but there was no communication from me with her until
8. she contacted me later in the day. So that...
9. Q. But she...
10. A. ....if that's the case it shows on the phone then this is all this all
11. makes sense as far as the time. Like I said all these weeks are
12. running in together.
13. Q. Sure, She that's what I'm tell, that's why I have to do this
14. because....
15. A. Uh huh (Affirmative).
16. Q. ....to try to make sense of it with 9 different people, 10 different
17. people.
18. A. And all this week they were always doing something. They were
19. either out on the boat, going swimming, there was times that she told
20. me she was at Target with Jeff going shopping. That un, Caylee and
21. Zack were, Zack is Jeff's son, was staying with, or his mom was
22. watch, babysitting them and things like that. And that's why
23. whenever I called Caylee wasn't with Caysee to put Caylee on the
24. phone. So there was always a reason. So. And then I can't
25. remember why, on the 14th what excuse she had on the 14th why they

20

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. weren't coming home. I only remember talking, I know I talked to her
2. on the 14th but I have no idea because from here on out you know
3. is...
4. Q. Uh huh (Affirmative).
5. A. ...when everything went down. I mean I know I spoke with her on the
6. 14th but I can't rmemeber, it wasn't anything significant.
7. Q. 15th is when...
8. A. 15th was the day that George picked up the um, okay this is....
9. Q. The tow yard put the thing on the door on the 11th
10. A. Right but we didn't find it until the 13th.
11. Q. Doing yard work.
12. A. Yes. George was planting plugs out in the front yard cause we killed
13. all that grass out there cause right on the two sides and I was out
14. weeding out front and he was putting the plugs in the front yard. And
15. I noticed something on the front door. Monday he couldn't go down
16. to the post office and neither could I, it was my early day, it was the
17. opposite way. That was his first day at his new job. So Tuesday he
18. didn't have to go in until later in the afternoon so he went down,
19. picked up the register letter at the post office. And then he called me
20. some time between 12, I don't know 11:30, 12 or something like that
21. and let me know that it was from a tow company and he was gonna
22. go down there. And then he called me from the tow company
23. becauase they needed both of us to be there and they needed the title
24. of the car to prove it was our car. So I met him, I stopped by the
25. bank; got $500 out cause he said it...

21

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. Q. That's how much the tow bill was?
2. A. It was 480 something because they charged us from the 30th even
3. though we didn't.
4. Q. Uh huh (Affirmative).
5. A. It's 20 something dollars a day.
6. Q. You had to take the title down.
7. A. We took the title down, had to sign for it, show our proof of who we
8. were. While I was doing that the guy went with George to get the car
9. and the guy was with George when he opened the trunk. And got the
10. bag of, plastic bag will of pizza and the pizza box was folded up in
11. there and the bag had the maggots and stuff. And the guy was there,
12. I'm not sure if George handed the bag to the guy or if the guy or if
13. George put it in the dumpster. And then you guys picked that up with
14. George so that'll be up to George to tell you guys that.
15. Q. Okay. And then uh, George drove the car home and you followed
16. him in your...?
17. A. Yes. And we parked it in the garage, opened everything up, took the
18. battery out of it just in case someone came home to try to get the car
19. we took the battery out of it. Never know.
20. Q. Someone being?
21. A. I don't know anybody. I have no idea, I'm not, I don't wanna
22. speculate on something I don't know but that's our thought was. And
23. then um when I got off work I was home by, between 5:30 and 6, is
24 when I found, I didn't go through the car, I found um, the, Amy's
25.

22

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. number in the front under Caysee's purse, so I called her first, never
2. met Amy before that. Had heard about her but never met her.
3. Q. Went and picked up Amy?
4. A. Yelp. she, first she you know was gonna just come and met me
5. somewhere and she had to make a phone call, I don't know who she
6. called and then she called me back and said, cause I offered
7. originally to go pick her up at the airport, I mean at the uh, mall. And
8. then she called me back after she made a phone call to someone and
9. then said it was okay for me to come pick her up. And she told me
10. that she'd only been to Tony's one time and she couldn't remember,
11. she knew where the apartment was but couldn't remember his
12. apartment but parked right outside and walked me right up to his door
13. without any hesitation.
14. Q. Do you think she called Caysee maybe before?
15. A. I have no idea.
16. Q. Okay.
17. A. I....
18. Q. Nothing lead you to believe that in that time frame that you spent with
19. her?
20. A. No.
21. Q. Okay.
22. A. I have no idea who she called. She made it sound like she was
23. gonna talk to her roommates or something, I don't know. And at that
24. time I didn't realize she was, her roommates was JP and Ricardo.
25. So.

23

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. Q. Um yeah, yeah she had moved at that, by that time.
2. A. Yeah she was staying with them.
3. Q. Yelp.
4. A. Now Ricardo was at our house a week or so ago. He told us, in fact if
5. I had my phone I could play Cory's voicemail to me.
6. (DETECTIVE HUSSEY)
7. Q. she'll get it, it she'll get right back to you she's....
8. A. Cause Cory remembered what he said as well. I'll, we'll play it, I
9. saved Cory's voice message that Caysee had stayed at Ricardo's
10. from here to the 8th, yeah.
11. Q. (Inaudible).
12. A. and then Ricardo flew here to Baltimore to see his mom on the
13. second and came back home the 8th, that's why he took a different
14. flight then Troy and Amy to Puerto Rico. And my understanding all
15. three friends took a different flight to Puerto Rico.
16. (DETECTIVE EDWARDS)
17. Q. That's what I'm finding out as well.
18. A. And they were all booked by Caysee off our computer months in
19. advance.
20. Q. She was supposed to go but canceled out on the 11th. She...
21. A. Well she never booked a flight from my understanding.
22. Q. Right.
23. A. So...
24. Q. That's my understanding too.
25.

24

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. A. ...she never booked a flight. The other thing is um, I find it kind of
2. odd, I asked, just asked random people without letting them know I
3. was asking. If you planned on going on a trip with your friends,
4. especially out of state or whatever wouldn't you wanna ride with your
5. friends so you can sit and chat on the way instead of booking
6. different flights? Especially if they were all made in advance, it wasn't
7. like they were, oh last minute I'm coming, oh last minute I'm coming
8. and that's the only flights out, just doesn't make sense to me.
9. Q. Well I can shed some light on that for you.
10. A. Thank you please it might help.
11. Q. Um Ricardo caught a layover flight because he caught it at the
12. airport.
13. A. Well I know why Ricardo said because he was coming back.
14. Q. Amy, yeah Amy, I think they tried to coordinate that during the same
15. day, I'm not sure I'd have to hold a um, interview her further about
16. that. But I know that Troy had a, something at work where he
17. couldn't get out till a certain day so the, the people that I spoke with
18. about that trip all had reasons why they couldn't leave on that
19. particular time.
20. A. Okay.
21. Q. So I (inaudible).
22. A. Right cause....
23. Q. ...if you going on a, a....
24.
25.

25

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. ....but the thing of it is they both maintained to us that they were
2. made at the same time whenever she made them on her computer.
3. So we should be able...
4. Q. Apparently....
5. A. ...on the computer find out when she made those arrangements.
6. Q. Apparently the um, this conversation or this planning was going on a
7. couple months before. They, they had been discussing going; this
8. was in the works for a while.
9. A. Right but..
10. Q. So.
11. A. ...(inaudible), I mean Ricardo's to me was that Caysee had, she
12. picked the dates, she picked the times, she picked the location.
13. Q. There's, there's some difficulty there about knowing what she had
14. been doing over her laptop, that's why...
15. A. My laptop.
16. Q. Yeah, that's why I asked you, because this information came to me
17. from Lee. I haven't even been involved in the forensic collection off
18. that laptop so like you please excuse me for...
19. A. Right.
20. Q. ....taking about things I myself haven't had hands on. But from
21. talking to Lee when he went and picked that computer up from
22. Tony's, Anthony's that day.
23. A. Yeah.
24. Q. And it was if it was wiped clean from the 15th back, like it had been
25. crashed. So I don't know what happened with your computer but

26

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. those things would have been easily recovered if in fact something
2. hadn't been altered. Just to her to let you know this is what we're up
3. against.
4. A. Right and that computer, all that stuff was sitting in Caysee, in that
5. apartment from the time I picked her up at 7:30.
6. Q. Sure.
7. A. Until he picked it up, actually it was the morning of the 16th cause it
8. was after midnight....
9. Q. Like 2:00 in the morning.
10. A. Right.
11. Q. It was like 2:30 and then he got back to the house with it.
12. A. Right.
13. Q. And she was very descriptive about the bag of clothing and....
14. A. We had two bags of clothes.
15. Q. No, no, no Caylee clothes though?
16. A. No nothing....
17. Q. No diapers or anything like that?
18. A. No the only thing that was left that was Caylee's was what was in the
19. car, her backpack and that's what George had seen her with the 6,
20. the morning of the 16th of June when he left. And he said Caysee
21. had her backpack and her backpack was some of the stuff at Tony's.
22. And then um, Caylee's backpack only had a couple of things in it.
23. There was no clothes in there like there would be. There was a
24. couple of diapers in there, her toothbrush, a couple hair things. And
25.

27

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. then maybe some wipes and that was it. Which is unusual cause
2. their backpacks are usually full...
3. Q. Uh huh (Affirmative).
4. A. ...to the brim and usually books, toys, clothes. Caysee from day one
5. wherever she took Caylee, whoever was watching her she said there
6. was always, there was always clothes and things for her there. And,
7. and diapers and stuff even though Caysee did pack a bag. Cause I
8. used to unpack Caylee's bags all the time and take stuff out. Take,
9. you know, left over food, you know cause she'd take little baggies of
10. you know pretzels or Cheerios or she'd have different juice things and
11. stuff like that. And I would usually empty stuff out, clean the stuff up
12. and put it away and then we'd repack it every day cause you don't
13. wanna leave anything in there that would spoil.
14. Q. Right. I'm familiar with that whole process.
15. A. Right.
16. Q. Uh huh (Affirmative).
17. A. I mean there's just normal stuff to do.
18. Q. clothing, laptop, Lee said the receipts...
19. A. h huh (Affirmative).
20. Q. ...that we had talked about the other day with....
21. A. Uh huh (Affirmative).
22. Q. Um anything else stand out in your mind about what he had brought
23. back from Tony's apartment?
24. A. I dumped, we dumped everything out on the floor in the ga, you know
25. the, the detective just kept walking by and I said, "Don't you guys

28

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. wanna look at this stuff," and they said "No," so I went through
2. pockets of everything, I dumped the wallet out, I showed the girls
3. everything that was in the wallet, I said, "Can I have my credit cards,"
4. she said, "Yes."
5. Q. I was a J C Penney's card.
6. A. J C Penney's and my Sears card was the only credit cards that were
7. in there of mine and then the cash. And I said "Do you mind if I keep
8. the cash it's probably (laughter)...pay somebody back cause they
9. spent mine."
10. Q. (Inaudible) right that's what I said.
11. A. Right.
12. Q. ....to Lee.
13. A. Well, she, and I don't even know how much cash was there. I just
14. Q. Lee said between a 160 and 200 in 20's is what he thought he
15. remembered.
16. A. I don't , I don't know, I don't...
17. Q. Unknown.
18. A. ....I'm, it's unknown, I don't think it was more than $200. I know it was
19. more than 150 but I don't think it was more than 200. But I just threw
20. it in my wallet with my cards.
21. Q. Now, now you said that, said she had two purses kind of, she had
22. one...
23. A. she had...
24. Q. ...one in the car.
25.

29

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. A. She had, well there was a, her work bag was in the white car on the
2. front seat. And then she had a pair of pants in the back seat and her
3. boots and a pair of shoes back there.
4. Q. With the pants and all that clothing collected by or did you guys keep
5. that stuff.
6. A. Um I thnk everything that was in the car, oh I told the one girl when
7. she picked things up, the boots were still in the trunk, I mean in the
8. car, in the back seat of the car.
9. Q. Boots.
10. A. The boots and the shoes. She had a pair of shoes and her boots
11. were in the back seat on the floor behind the driver's side. I never
12. touched them. Those were still in the car when the took the car, I told
13. her I had taken that gray pair of slacks out and that I actually had
14. washed them cause they smelt nasty. So I washed them and I told
15. them that and she didn't, she didn't take them. They're hanging up in
16. Caysee's closet.
17. Q. Washed.
18. A. And all of the clothes that night I asked them, "Do you wanna go
19. through any of this stuff," that was the night of the 15th (inaudible) in
20. the morning and they said no. So I said, "Well this stuff's all smoky
21. I'm gonna wash it," and I did. But I let it sit in her bedroom until this
22. past weekend.
23. Q. (Inaudible)
24.
25.

30

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. A. All stacked up and I said if no one wants it I'm putting it away so I put
2. everything in her drawers and in her closet because I figured yall had
3. plenty of time if you wanted to look through stuff you had it so.
4. (DETECTIVE HUSSEY)
5. Q. When you, when you said the slacks smelt nasty are you talking
6. about like...
7. A. Just smoke...
8. Q. ...body odor or...
9. A. ...they just, everything kinda took the smell of the car.
10. Q. Okay, okay.
11. A. I mean they just had an odor.
12. Q. Okay.
13. A. Cause I, I had let Caylee's baby doll, Caylee's baby doll was sitting in
14. the car seat and that was, that was taken along with um, you know a
15. few other items that, that was all signed off for with the car.
16. (DETECTIVE EDWARDS)
17. Q. You, you've washed the slacks and everything else?
18. A. I washed all her clothes. Everybody said there was no big deal so no
19. one wanted any of them.
20. Q. I feel your frustration in regards to that matter so every time you say
21. it, it, it beats me too so...
22. A. Well my husband doesn't understand any of that, I mean he was a
23. detective for years and he doesn't understand why stuff was
24. overlooked and...
25.

31

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. Q. Like the, A, the issue that you and I talked about the other day I
2. asked you the favor to allow us to go get those cans.
3. A. Uh huh (Affirmative).
4. Q. Which I didn't know it was gonna turn into the media circus that it has.
5. A. Well you know what, George and I could have brought them to you
6. guys without anybody even looking cause we could have put them in
7. the car in our garage without anybody knowing and then here's the
8. media circus...
9. Q. I'm gonna ask you...
10. A. ...again.
11. Q. ...to do that with the slacks.
12. A. Okay well they've already been washed.
13. Q. Without us going back, I don't are.
14. A. Okay.
15. Q. Because...
16. A. I know exactly which one, they're (inaudible).
17. Q. Would you like one?
18. A. No thanks.
19. Q. I, that's just, just in an effort to be as thorough as we can possible be
20. with, with little, holes that are in the dam.
21. A. Well you know what there's a lot of holes in the dam.
22. (DETECTIVE HUSSEY)
23. Q. The reason, the, the reason that...
24. A. I'm surprised we don't have a flood.
25.

32

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. Q. ...the reason that we send, the reason that we send someone out to
2. pick that stuff up is because they, they like to photograph it in place.
3. A. I under...
4. Q. Because if it ever becomes evidence...
5. a. I understand.
6. Q. ...for something, okay.
7. A. Yeah, but that stuff's been moved.
8. Q. I know.
9. A. George has...
10. Q. I know.
11. A. ...George has mowed the grass.
12. Q. Sure.
13. A. On different occasions.
14. Q. I know.
15. A. Lee mowed the grass since all of that.
16. Q. I know.
17. A. And he borrowed the gas cans and the lawn mower...
18. Q. A lot of that stuff....
19. A. ...in between all of that.
20. Q. ...a lot of that stuff is procedural things and, and the way we do
21. thing.
22. A. I understand.
23. Q. And it's just...
24. (DETECTIVE EDWARDS)
25. Q. You don't mind doing the pants thing though?

33

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. (DETECTIVE HUSSEY)
2. Q. You know I....
3. A. No I don't mind. Like I said, I was waiting for yall to go (laughter)
4. through all that stuff.
5. Q. Yeah.
6. A. But there, the Saturday after all of this happened, which was the 19th
7. (inaudible) and went through her stuff and there was only one person
8. that I know that could have done that.
9. (DETECTIVE EDWARDS)
10. Q. Who's that?
11. A. Jesse. Cause Jesse went on my computer to access his phone
12. records. And you have to walk by Caysee's room to get to where our
13. computer's at.
14. Q. Jesse have a key to your hosue?
15. A. I don't know but he was in the house with Lee that day because they,
16. that was the day they were out working, putting up flyers...
17. Q. Ohh.
18. A. ...and doing things. Lee had him with him that...
19. Q. so they were doing their investigation efforts there together cause the
20. next day is the day that Jesse called that meeting of all the friends.
21. A. Yes.
22. Q. So Jesse and Lee are....
23. A. In fact it was my idea, I had come home because that Saturday, and
24. this is, let me tell you. On Saturday the 19th I had to go pick up some
25. flyers at Kinko's or not Kinko's, Staples downtown at the, on Colonial

34

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. Plaza. They wanted a family member to pick them up. That was the
2. first time they were giving free flyers to us. George had made the
3. arrangements. He was busy doing something, I said, "I'll go." So I
4. went down to pick them up, what I did is I stopped at the drop point at
5. Publix where they had set up the tent and where they'd been handing
6. out flyers. I didn't want to go by myself, I was gonna go down to um,
7. because Lee was still down there at the time when I left. George was
8. the only one at home and when I got there I saw Annie, one of
9. Caysee's best friends. So I went right up to Annie, cause they were
10. marking cars and I said, "Well go ahead and mark my car," you know
11. they were writing on the cars you know, find you know help find
12. Caylee and all that. I said, "Annie you wanna go with me to Staples,"
13. so I figured this is a good opportunity for me to talk to Annie cause I
14. hadn't had a chance to talk to Annie this whole week.
15. Q. In the whirlwind.
16. A. To find out what was going on. so her and I drove to Staples and
17. um, her and I, when we were talking it made me feel how good it was
18. to talk to her, one of Caysee's friends to see if she had talked to
19. Caysee, long list I said, "You know what it wouldn't be a bad idea,"
20. her and I talked about getting peeople together like Cory and some of
21. Caysee's other friends to see if we could figure out what Caysee was
22. doing during this time okay. So when I got back to the house after
23. dropping Annie back off at the Publix with the flyers. By then Jesse
24. and Lee were back at the house. Jesse was sitting at one end of my
25. table in the dinner room, Lee was at the other and when I came in I

35

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. said something to Lee and Jesse was there. I said, "You know what,"
2. I said, "Annie and I just had a really great talk, we spent you know the
3. last 45 minutes or so talking," I said, "I think it'd be helpful if we get all
4. Caysee's friends together and kind of do a time line over the last you
5. know month to see where here head was at and what's going on."
6. Plus too I knew that um, Shawn Daley's friend was the one that did
7. Caysee's tattoo and I said it wouldn't be a bad idea to talk to him
8. about the tattoo. And Jessee was there, Jesse goes, "Well Mrs.
9. Anthony let me volunteer to be in charge of that time line." And I
10. says, "Well, Jesse," I said, "A lot of these friends I'm gonna be talking
11. to you don't know," I said, "I'd kinda like to talk to her friends first,"
12. and then I said, "Certainly you can interject your stuff in the time line."
13. And he said, "Well I really wanna participate," so I said, "Fine," I said,
14. "If you wanna participate," he and I stepped away and we sat down
15. for almost two hours and he did me a play by play of everything that
16. he had done and I wrote it down and he saw me write it down and we
17. were going back and forth. So I wrote down a lot of stuff that Jesse
18. had told me. If fact to the point where he had contradicted himself
19. several times because he told me he had a 18 minute conversation
20. with Caysee on the 27th and he would, because Caysee called him to
21. cheer him up about losing his job at OPD, losing his job is what he
22. told me, at OPD, when he's telling everybody that he quit okay. And,
23. and I said, "18 minutes that's a long time," I said, "During that time did
24. Caylee's name come into play," and he goes, "Yeah," he goes, "I
25. asked her where Caylee was," and I says, "Well what did she say,"

36

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. and he goes she said that she was with the nanny, I said, "Really,"
2. and I said, 'Where was that," and he says, "At the beach." And I said
3. "So you didn't hear Caylee in the background, you didn't hear
4. Caysee," he said, "Absolutely not." I mean that was, he was
5. adamant, I'm writing it down. So on Sunday, this was Saturday he
6. and I were doing his little time line with me.
7. Q. Uh huh (Affirmative).
8. A. On Sunday, Sunday or Monday he calls George, George a have to
9. tell you which day he called him, wanting to speak with me. He said,
10. mr. Anthony I wanna speak with your wife," and George says, "Well
11. she's busy right now what do you wanna do." And I, he, he, or, "What
12 what do you need," and he said, "I need to talk to her I made a mistake on
13. the day," he goes, it wasn't the 27th, I checked my phone records, it
14. was actually the 24th." And he says, "And that's the day I heard
15. Caysee tell Caylee to get off the table." George didn't know what
16. Jesse and I talked about cause I hadn't talked, told him that, I just
17. had that for my own personal stuff. So when George told me that I
18. just, he said, "What," it wasn't the date that I was concerned it was
19. the hype of the conversation, because now he's saying that he heard
20. Caylee and he was very specific, or heard Caysee tell Caylee to get
21. off the table. I say, "Well if he's telling you that it was the 24th that he
22. spoke with Caysee and he said it was a 13 minute conversation not
23. 18, that he heard Caylee, he heard Caysee talk to Caylee about
24. getting off the table," I said, "it's awful funny because he was
25. adamant on the 27th that he didn't, he thought Caylee was at the

37

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. beach and that he never heard Caysee talk to him," I said, "So that's
2. awful weird." That's when I started getting suspicious.
3. Q. Yeah cause this uh, Caysee never told him she was at the hospital in
4. Tampa then either.
5. A. No.
6. Q. she didn't mention any of that?
7. A. No. And Jesse had called me on either...
8. Q. Cause she would have been yelling at the baby, "Get off the table" at
9. the hospital.
10. A. Yeah.
11. Q. Okay trying to keep...
12. A. Well I'm just saying...
13. Q. I'm with you. I know you're saying that from talking to different people
14. that questions come up and flags get raised.
15. A. Questions have been coming up, right.
16. Q. don't talk to (inaudible)...
17. A. The other thing that I found very strange is as soon as I came in on
18. the 19th back from talking with annie and, and I made the
19. announcement to Lee with Jesse present that I was gonna just start a
20. time line with Annie and he, and I shot him down about, cause he
21. volunteered, he goes, "Well let me be in charge of it," and I said, "No
22. Jesse," I said, "I think I'd like to do it." Um, and then I said, "We'll get
23. your input." He immediately went outside, went outside, not only my
24. screen porch which is off the living room, he went clear outside and
25. was talking on the phone. And I thought that was kind of weird so

38

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. then I hurried up and I told George, I said "Go outside on the porch
2. and get something," you know on the patio. Soon as he did Jesse
3. hung up his phone and came in to the screen porch and start talking
4. to george. And then I, George can tell you whatever conversation
5. that was. but I thought it was just kind of odd that all of a sudden he
6. had to leave and go talk to someone real quick when I shut him down
7. about the time line. I mean it was just very strange behavior.
8. Q. And Lee was at the house that time, there was no chance that he
9. called Lee?
10. A. Lee was sitting at the table.
11. Q. Okay.
12. A. Working and Lee wasn't talking to him on the phone.
13. Q. Okay.
14. A. He was in the living room; I mean in the dining room which it's all like
15. one big L-shaped room anyway, there's no walls between them. So
16. And then my understanding from here on out Jesse was in Georgia
17. from the 21st on is what Annie told me and that he was unavailable.
18. Q. Do you have her phone number?
19. A. Yeah she's in my phone.
20. Q. Okay.
21. A. I'll give it to you when I get my phone back. She's programmed in.
22. Yeah my, from my understanding Jesse was unavailable this whole
23. week. he was going to, up to Georgia to help his brother locate
24. apartments or doing whatever. So that's supposedly why Jesse was
25. never back around the house. Now I'm not sure it that's true cause I

39

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. know Lee had been talking to him and all that. That's what he told
2. me. And Jesse made a point to go to Annie and I think Melina, which
3. is another friend of Caysee's. And Melina is a interesting person you
4. guys might wanna talk to because Melina...
5. Q. M E L I N A?
6. A. I don't know.
7. Q. Do you have her phone number?
8. a. I don't but Lee does. Melina and Caysee hung out a lot while Jesse
9. and Caysee were engaged right after Caylee was born. And Melina
10. and her fiance at that time hung out, they were like couples, you
11. know going out. And to my understanding Jesse moved in with
12. Melina's boyfriend for a period of time because both Caysee and
13. Melina broke up with the guys somewhere around the same time and
14. Jesse and Melina's fiance, and I don't know who he was, is, I never
15. met him to don't know his name, were roommates for a while. So
16. anyway. But anyway Jesse was reaching out to Melina, reaching out
17. to Annie, trying to find out what everybody was saying. I mean really
18. reaching out. Jesse also accused us of turning his name into the
19. police, I can't remember which day he told me, wanted to know why I
20. gave his name to the police and I said, "Jesse," I said, "I didn't give
21. your name to the authorities," I said, "They took her phone from me
22. that first night," I, you know we gave her the phone, they just went
23. down the list and started calling everybody. Cause I was standing
24. out in the middle of my street in front of my house with one of the
25. regular, um, deputy sheriffs that, you know that came the house that

40

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. night. He was just calling everybody, going down and calling
2. everybody. And I remember him...
3. Q. The deputy was?
4. A. Yeah the deputy was.
5. Q. Do you know Lauren Gibbs?
6. A. yes, Lauren is one of Caysee's best friends. Lauren used to baby sit
7. Caylee.
8. Q. Yelp.
9. A. And, and there's another Lauren too that I don't know her last name.
10. Lauren's the one that introduced Ricardo and Amy to Caysee about a
11. year ago. And...
12. Q. Second Lauren?
13. A. Yeah there's another Lauren, dark haired Lauren. This was a blond
14. haired Lauren and I don't know her name. I don't know um, the other
15. Lauren. I've known Lauren Gibbs forever.
16. Q. And she introduced who?
17. A. Um Amy and Ricardo to Caysee last year sometime. Annie can tell
18. you the exact day that Caysee said that um, um, Caylee's dad was
19. killed in the car crash. it...
20. Q. (Inaudible).
21. A. Because she got a phone call, I remember getting a phone call too
22. but I can't remember, it was either right after Caylee's birthday or
23. right after Caysee's birthday, it was someone's birthday. Annie
24. knows the exact date so she could tell you when the car thing was.
25. And...

41

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. Q. Feel free. I know it's, it's a uh, it's a lot of information.
2. (DETECTIVE HUSSEY)
3. Q. Yeah and I, I'm gonna wanna take a look at, Miss Anthony, I, I, I,
4. when you came in here you um, made some comments about some
5. of the things that were going on and how frustrated you, you were.
6. Um let me explain a couple of things and maybe it'll help you. Um
7. even within our agency there are different areas of expertise okay.
8. A. I understand.
9. Q. People you know they, they work their little areas and sometimes um,
10. not as a custom to working these kind of cases okay. So we're
11. bringing some more people in, some, get some fresh looks at some
12. of this stuff okay. The problem that you're having with some of these
13. other agencies is the media has tainted this thing as, as you well
14. know and, and you know that's gone nation wide, Nancy Grace and
15. some of the stuff that, that um, that is out there. And people are
16. watching.
17. A. Uh huh (Affirmative)
18. Q. So you're gonna have to bear with some of that. With you know
19. people...
20. A. Well...
21. Q. ...people have preconceived notions about things and the problem in
22. these smaller jurisdictions is they don't deal with this at all ever. You
23. know this is not something that ever happens in, in their communities
24. okay. So um, nobody wants to see your granddaughter back home
25. with you than we do okay. I, I'm telling you right now you know, we'll

42

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. pull out all the stops, we'll do everything we can do to make that
2. happen.
3. A. But it's very hard every day to see...
4. Q. I, I, I, absolutely.
5. A. Yeah.
6. Q. And, and it uh, I, I understand what you're up against because this is
7. the stuff that we're up against all the time also. It is, is people
8. preconceived notions about things and...
9. (DETECTIVE EDWARDS)
10. Q. Jumping to conclusions.
11. (DETECTIVE HUSSEY)
12. Q. I was just gonna say, one of the things that we do not do is jump to
13. conclusions.
14. A. Well...
15. Q. We, we take our time okay and we look at everything and put it all
16. together and, and let it take us wherever it takes us.
17. A. Well why are we waiting a month or 3 weeks after, well let's go from
18. where we're at in July, gosh all these dates.
19. (DETECTIVE EDWARDS)
20. Q. I'll flip it for you.
21. A. One, two, three, four weeks, that's four weeks now to do a time
22. line...
23. (DETECTIVE HUSSEY)
24. Q. To do this time line...
25. A. ...with the family.

43

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. (DETECTIVE EDWARDS)
2. Q. I, I've been working...
3. A. With the family.
4. (DETECTIVE HUSSEY)
5. Q. Probably because they were doing a lot of other things and...
6. A. Yeah and those other things were trying to built a case against
7. Caysee.
8. Q. I, I, I don't know...
9. A. Caysee may be a liar but she didn't murder her daughter.
10. Q. Okay and, and that's what we're gonna try to prove okay. We're,
11. we're, we're gonna let the facts take us where they take us.
12. (DETECTIVE EDWARDS)
13. Q. Let me, may, I can shed some light on it a little bit. Uh it took me a
14. while to be able to...
15. (DETECTIVE HUSSEY)
16. Q. Yeah I can't speak for this cause I have not been involved...
17. A. I understand.
18. Q. ...in it up to...
19. (DETECTIVE EDWARDS)
20. Q. For these time lines um, I know I've been working on this time line,
21. these issues for 2 weeks.
22. A. But see wouldn't George and I one of the first people...
23. Q. It was a while before; I'm not running lead on this.
24. A. I know you're not.
25. Q. So for me to be able to say I'd like to talk to the family...

44

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. A. I know.
2. Q. ...took a while for me to get the green light. And I'm not saying
3. that...
4. A. But that's my whole point, why does it take so long to bring someone
5. like you in when that time line should have been very important is my
6. whole point is that the people in lead were they doing Caylee an
7. injustice by not doing this and focusing everything on Caysee? let
8. me just, let me just...
9. Q. Questions that I, I wish I had a pretty packaged answer to give you.
10. A. I know.
11. Q. That made it more power able but unless I sat in those investigators
12. shoes making those decisions I couldn't give a fair assessment.
13. A. Okay let me ask you, why do you think Caysee took, this is my, right
14. now, why do you think Caysee took them to that Glen, is it Glenwood
15. or Glenmore Apartment complex?
16. Q. Because maybe she was familiar with it, that's the only thing I can tell
17. you.
18. A. And who lives in that complex?
19. Q. There's some friends I believe she has...
20. A. Ricardo and Amy, live there in that complex. And if she was stepping
21. back enough, I, you know everybody can speculate or whatever, I
22. think Caysee got mixed up with some bad people.
23. Q. Highly possible.
24. A. Ricardo, Amy and Tony, who I've just learned are all intertwined.
25. They're all into drugs.

45.

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. (DETECTIVE HUSSEY)
2. Q. Sure.
3. A. We talked to another agency. They're all into drugs, they all know
4. each other very well and for Amy telling me she'd only been at, to
5. Tony's apartment once has to be a lie cause she's known him, I think
6. shes the one that introduced...
7. Q. Uh huh (Affirmative).
8. A. ...and Tony and Ricardo go way back and there's some dealings
9. there. So Caysee's mixed up somehow so, and they have the money
10. and means and Caysee's been maintaining all along.
11. Q. Uh huh (Affirmative).
12. A. But there are physical threats against this family.
13. Q. Uh huh (Affirmative)
14. A. Or harm to if she comes clean and tells where Caylee's at.
15. Q. Uh huh (Affirmative).
16. A. So...
17. (DETECTIVE EDWARDS)
18. Q. So you think they may be coming from Amy and Ricardo or...?
19. A. I don't know. I mean if they're, my understanding is these folks have
20. some connections with some people that has money.
21. (DETECTIVE HUSSEY)
22. Q. Sure.
23. A. Has a way to make people disappear. Has means to threaten and
24. Caysee's scared, I could see it in her face, she's scared and I think
25. she's trying to give us clues, I've been saying that from day one, to,

46

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. for us to figure it out without coming out because, and that's why I
2. think, I could have Caysee out today I want you to know.
3. Q. There's still going to be...
4. A. I could have Caysee out today; the bail money is not a issue.
5. Q. Uh huh (Affirmative).
6. A. I'm telling you that right now, I have people that a help me. I think it's
7. a safety issue for both Caysee and Caylee, keeping her ass there for
8. right now until we figure this stuff out. Because if the media and
9. everybody's still pointing fingers at Caysee everybody else is okay.
10. So if we get off our butt and we keep looking for these people, I'm just
11. saying, me or Lee or whomever, I'm not just saying you guys, we
12. start looking at these other issues, other possibilities we're gonna find
13. who these people are and we're gonna find Caylee.
14. (DETECTIVE EDWARDS)
15. We've invited in, investigative bodies to the party that work those
16. types of scenarios just so you know, looking into the phone records
17. and things or that nature, seeing if one of those things that maybe
18. popped up in a large scale narcotics investigation in the past. If any
19. of those bells and whistles go off. So just so you know. And those
20. types of things, me even saying that to you I'm, I'm afraid of saying
21. something like that but I want you to walk away rest assured that
22. every investigative avenue that we can think of approaching, we're
23. doing.
24. A. Right.
25. Q. Okay.

47

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. A. But we reached out to another agency that gave us some insight
2. and....
3. (DETECTIVE HUSSEY)
4. Q. That's fine.
5. A. ...which is good.
6. Q. Sure...
7. A. And, and they are working their side of it too.
8. Q. Absolutely.
9. A. And it makes me feel a little bit better about some things.
10. (DETECTIVE EDWARDS)
11. Q. Okay.
12. A. But is it too late because the longer it goes how hard, far are they
13. hiding her?
14. Q. All I would ask though is if you have something like that going on, and
15. a lot of times we run into that within our own agency because we're
16. so large that one division is working a similar target on a similar type
17. of crime and they don't let the, the other division doesn't know. Then
18. there's safety concerns and issues where that, sharing that
19. information puts everyone in harms way.
20. A. Well...
21. Q. So if that agency has anything pertinent that uh, may plug some
22. holes for us or we can help them in any way, please have them
23. contact us. Yeah?
24. A. (No audible response).
25.

48

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. Q. I need those phone numbers. Can you think of anything else that we
2. need to discuss on this calendar of time line right now? And once
3. again come back whenever you'd like. I, I don't have a problem with
4. the, without having all the media stuff if you could bring me those
5. pants I would really appreciate it.
6. A. Oh I can definitely get you those pants without a big deal, I could put
7. them in my purse or whatever.
8. Q. Don't put them in a big brown paper bag and...
9. A. I won't...
10. (DETECTIVE HUSSEY)
11. Q. (Inaudible).
12. A. ...and walk out.
13. Q. (Laughter).
14. A. No I know, I mean it's ridiculous.
15. (DETECTIVE EDWARDS)
16. Q. What uh, what else in that car did you remove that day and maybe
17. laundered....
18. A. No the only thing that I threw in the wash was her pants because
19. there's no other clothes in there.
20. Q. Okay.
21. A. There was no other clothes. And everything else I gave to the,
22. there's one thing that was missing though that I know was in the bag
23. and I made mention of that.
24. Q. Go ahead.
25. A. To either Yuri or John not too long ago. Caysee had....

49

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. Q. This is the clothing bag?
2. A. This was in her work bag, the bag, there was no clothing bag, was
3. her work bag that had Amy's resumes in there cause it had an
4. envelope with Amy's resumes. Caysee had a lanyard that had
5. Universal Studios ID, it was her original one from when she worked at
6. Kodak.
7. Q. I think I saw that the other day.
8. A. The, there was a shamrock with white beads on it, it was a big one.
9. That was not there the, the next day. It was there that night; it was
10. not there the next day. Caysee was never left alone to go get that
11. because Lee and I walked her into her bedroom when we came
12. home that night, walked her right past everything. She didn't even
13. know what, what we, I had taken out of the car cause I had it over by
14. the wash, washer and dryer and I also have a um, ice chest there.
15. We had it sitting off to the side. And from the point when I called 9 1
16. 1 she was never left alone by a deputy so she couldn't have taken it
17. out. Lee didn't take it, I didn't take it. It turned up missing by the time
18. they get, people came back to get, take her car and the stuff that was
19. in it. Because I left it in her bag and when I went back to the bag
20. when we were going through stuff to write it down on the, the sheet, I
21. wasn't there. So somebody took it that, that um, Tuesday night or
22. early Wednesday morning and I don't know why they would have it
23. but it wasn't there.
24. Q. Was it law enforcement do you believe, probably?
25. A. Had to be.

50

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. Q. Yeah I think I've seen what you're talking about, I'll check, I'll check
2. with Yuri and confirm.
3. A. But it wasn't, it wasn't listed in the items so someone had to have
4. taken it.
5. Q. I'll ask him about it.
6. A. Someone, if, if you guys have it, it should have been with the stuff,
7. your guys would, would have taken it without my knowledge. And I
8. don't think that, I mean everything else was...
9. Q. These are simple questions...
10. A. ...written down.
11. Q. ...for me to go ask and follow up on, I'll, particularly these two right
12. here today when we leave here cause I know you and Yuri discussed
13. those already...
14. A. Yeah.
15. Q. ....so matter of fact Mark can probably, you mind jumping on that for
16. me Mark?
17. (DETECTIVE HUSSEY)
18. Q. No.
19. (DETECTIVE EDWARDS)
20. Q. I'm on get her an answer today.
21. A. Um...
22. Q. (Inaudible)
23. A. I have a question. I know um, and is is something you may not
24. know I'll have to ask either um, Sergeant Allen or Detective Melich.
25. Um, Jose, Caysee's attorney had asked for, to ask for um, the video

51

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. or CD or whatever footage at the airport to show Caysee to see if that
2. would, Caylee was there or not and no one ever go back with him on
3. that.
4. Q. He needs to contact Sergeant Allen for sure on that.
5. A. He did. So I mean he, he, he said Sergeant Allen said, "No we're not
6. giving evidence," is what his words were, "Evidence to you." Well, so
7. what's the deal with that?
8. Q. That, well just from standing on the outside looking in...
9. A. I mean if there's a, if there, (Inaudible), thing is, if there is a video,
10. which I would think Homeland Security that there would be a
11. video. I mean with this day and age...
12. (DETECTIVE HUSSEY)
13. Q. sometimes (laughter).
14. A. Well I would think Orlando International Airport, not Sanford Airport or
15. something like that.
16. Q. No but sometimes...
17. (DETECTIVE EDWARDS)
18. Q. There are, and I thnk the other day Yuri had said to you that there
19. was some tape over issues that may have occurred, I don't know.
20. A. but who uses...
21. Q. ...once again...
22. A. ...who uses video, I thought everything was like on a digital...
23. (DETECTIVE HUSSEY)
24. Q. No they still have video believe me...
25.

52

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. (DETECTIVE EDWARDS)
2. Q. And even the hard drives, there's so much data probably being
3. collected, they may have a window...
4. A. Well I...
5. Q. ...I don't know.
6. A. ...we have friends in Homeland Security I think I'll call them and find
7. out with the airport things has, what their deal is.
8. Q. I can't tell you not to.
9. A. Well you know, I mean it's just whatever. I mean I, I'd just be curious
10. to see. I mean I've had people email me pictures that they thought
11. was Caylee and I said no, you know right away I could tell they're not
12. Caylee.
13. (DETECTIVE HUSSEY)
14. Q. Right.
15. A. So I mean why waste you guy's time if they have them email them to
16. me I'll see them.
17. (DETECTIVE EDWARDS)
18. Q. Yuri had that one I think that was emailed that when I looked at the
19. computer screen was like, but it wasn't. It's amazing.
20. A. Yeah there...
21. Q. If any, if...
22. A. ...there was one that I had to look and look and look and look and
23. look.
24. Q. ...probably the same one I'm talking about.
25.

53

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. A. Looked and looked and looked and looked and looked and looked
2. and look and look and look. It was a side profile that I kept enlarging,
3. enlarging...
4. Q. Well this was a front shot.
5. A. Oh.
6. Q. Yeah.
7. A. Well, haven't, then I haven't seen the front shot one.
8. Q. (Inaudible) about that one.
9. A. Well, I'd like to see it, I haven't seen it.
10. Q. Feel free, you have my card now.
11. A. Yes.
12. Q. Uh if, if you'd like to go through Yuri that's fine but if it's a time line
13. issue and that's what I'm working on...
14. A. If I can get, like I said the text that would, it'll jog my memory for the
15. phone calls that may not be able to be recorded because like I said,
16. this text would have gone with phone calls that I placed with her and
17. that might jog my memory if I can get...
18. Q. Okay.
19. A. ...those. I mean I think that would help. I don't know if that's
20. possible.
21. Q. Let me swear you to this that way I can get George in here and I'll
22. check on that and see when they're doing yours so I can just have
23. them run off a second copy, I just have to run that through Yuri
24. because he's dead.
25. A. Okay.

54

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. Q. And if he doesn't have a problem with it, which I don't, I don't
2. perceive...
3. A. I mean if it helps...
4. Q. Yeah.
5. A. ...I think we should.
6. Q. Certainly, I agree.
7. A. Um and there's been news releases that you guys are releasing the
8. evidence this week.
9. Q. I have...
10. A. Is there any, I mean it's on TV.
11. Q. I don't know how...
12. (DETECTIVE HUSSEY)
13. Q. I don't know where they get that stuff from.
14. A. Okay.
15. Q. I don't have any idea how that...
16. A. Well...
17. (DETECTIVE EDWARDS)
18. Q. Things you and I discuss in here...
19. (DETECTIVE HUSSEY)
20. Q. You know as well as I do a lot of the things that you say to them
21. comes out completely different when they...
22. A. Well yeah, well that's what I was just wondering.
23. Q. ...when they put it out.
24. A. I mean I'm just, I don't wanna hear about it on the news if there's
25. something major, it'd be nice if we knew up front.

55

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. (DETECTIVE EDWARDS)
2. Q. That's sounds like a ...
3. A. I mean I would just ask that.
4. (DETECTIVE HUSSEY)
5. Q. Oh I agree.
6. (DETECTIVE EDWARDS)
7. Q. We can express that to Yuri and Sergeant...
8. A. I mean you know.
9. Q. It would make sense right?
10. A. Uh huh (Affirmative).
11. Q. Yeah.
12. A. Uh huh (Affirmative).
13. Q. We'll touch upon that today too. Can I have my list to touch
14. upon? Thank you sir. And evidence information you want.
15. A. Yeah the other thing too, in the bond hearing there was testimony
16. that one cadaver dog checked out the car.
17. Q. No we're definitely on ice that I can't skate on.
18. A. I know but I'm just saying because they had the guy that trained the
19. dog, I think each dog has its own trainer.
20. (DETECTIVE HUSSEY)
21. Q. Uh huh (Affirmative).
22. A. And they had him testify. Well that's the same dog that Detective
23. Allen or Sergeant Allen and I sat there and he play by played why
24. they brought the second dog in is because the first one that they're

56

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. using as the dog that hit on our car was inconsistent hitting in the
2. same spot in our backyard. So I'm just wondering you know...
3. Q. I can't speak for any of that.
4. A. I understand but I'm, you know what I'm saying.
5. (DETECTIVE EDWARDS)
6. Q. If you'd like...
7. A. Cause it was definitely said that there was one dog and now
8. they're...
9. Q. If I swear you to this now and I go down and check with the Sarg and
10. find out if they have a few minutes to sit with you while I talk to George.
12. A. Be nice cause I have questions.
13. Q. Okay.
14. A. I mean pounce here's the deal, they told us from day one they'd be
15. filling us in what was going on and they did a great job up until this
16. Saturday which was the what, the 7th, the 19th, and from then on
17. nothing.
18. Q. I'll go ask him. Matter of fact you can touch upon these issues again
19. with him face to face and then I'll talk to him when you leave.
20. A. Alright.
21. Q. Could you raise your right hand for me? You swear the information
22. you gave today is true and correct?
23. A., I didn't know I was swearing about anything that I, as best to my
24. ability this was what I remember.
25. Q. Acceptable answer. Thank you.

57

Cindy Anthony/08-74777/YW/090908

1. A. I didn't know this was a deposition or whatever, I thought it was...
2. Q. It was a ...
3. A. ...I thought it was just a time line.
4. Q. ...it's a, it's a statement, what time is, do you have there?
5. A. I didn't do this on um, Friday. I didn't swear to anything.
6. (DETECTIVE HUSSEY)
7. Q. 10:53...
8. A. I'm just putting it out there guys.
9. (DETECTIVE EDWARDS)
10. Q. And you and Yuri were so engaged in a conversation that I didn't
11. wanna interrupt that...
12. A. Well...
13. Q. I'm very methodical when I do things.
14. A. I understand.
15.
