Transcribed by www.acandyrose.com (from .pdf file)

**NOTE: The date of this transcript shows June 30, 2008 but obviously that can't be correct since Casey Anthony wasn't arrested until July 15, 2008 so my best guess is this was suppose to be July 30, 2008.

7 YM: The date right now is June 30,2008, The time right now is 0911 hours. I'm
8 Detective MeUch with the Orange County Sheriff's Office, case number 08
9 69208. I'm in my office at the Orange County Sheriff's Office with Christopher
10 Stutz. Chris, would you please name, your name and your birth date.
11 CS: Uh, Christopher Luke Stutz, uh, 07/13/87.
12 YM: Alright, Chris, you're aware this is being recorded?
13 CS: Yes sir.
14 YM: Any objection to that?
15 CS: No sir.
16 YM: Okay. Uh, you're not in custody. You're free to leave. The door is closed so we
17 could have privacy, but obviously you can open it up and leave at any time.
18 CS: Right.
19 YM: Uhm, I asked you to come down here today because I'm investigating a case
20 involving Casey Anthony. And uh, just on speaking with you for a couple of
21 minutes you have some information that I was going to, I wanted to pay attention
22 to, and hence the reason I want to record it. Uhm, we'll back track a lttle bit. Uh,
23 you say you knew Casey for about three years?
24 CS: Give or take.
25 YM: Okay. Uh, met her I guess while you guys were playing football?

1

Stutz, Christopher/Case #08-069208/GG

1 cs: Yeah (affirmative), a bunch of friends, we would get together at Deerwood
2 Elementary and play football and she came down to visit one of her friends,
3 which is an acquaintance with me, and we ended up getting to talk.
4 YM: What was that person's name? Do you remember?
5 CS: Uhm,there's a couple of them she knew. Adam Lynch, Matt (spelling), and I
6 beleve that was it right there.
7 YM: And you guys met uh, I guess sometime last year you guys started to date? Is
8 that right?
9 CS: Yeah (affirmative), We were friends and then we decided to kind of take it up a
10 notch.
11 YM: Okay. When were you guys dating? Do you, do you kind of have a, an idea of
12 what month, months?
13 CS: Uhm, it was (sighs), I want to say right before school let out, or for summer, so
14 maybe, well maybe, March, April.
15 YM: Okay. So March, April of last year?
16 CS: Yeah (affirmative).
17 YM: How long were you guys dating?
18 CS: Not very long because we had decided to be friends and the who1e long distance
19 relationship wasn't working for us.
20 YM: Okay. When you ...
21 CS: (Unintelligible) came out.
22 YM: When you say long distance, where were you living at the time?
23 CS: Florida State, oh, up in Tallahassee.
24 YM: Oh, okay. So you were, you're, okay, you were up there. You'd just come down
25 here, you guys met, dated a little bit, and said ah, too far?

2

Stutz, Christopher/Case #08-069208/GG

1 CS: Yeah (affirmative), just be friends.
2 YM: Okay. Uhm, after, or (unintelligible) last summer, do, do you also go to school
3 during the summer time or?
4 CS: No sir. I work during the summer.
5 YM: Okay. Last summer did you spend any time with her or hang out with her?
6 CS: Yeah (affirmative), we hung out a lot Uhm, both my house, her house. We'd go
7 out to like a movie or something.
8 YM: What did she like to do?
9 CS: Uhm, she liked to, we went putt-putt golfing, uhm, nothing big. She wouldn't like
10 to go to drink at all really because uhm, she didn't want to leave her kid with her
11 mom and dad for too long.
12 YM: Okay. What kind of drugs was she known to use, either regularly or
13 recreationally? And then keep in mind I'm not here to try and ...
14 CS: No, yeah (affirmative).
15 YM: ... suggest anything with you.
16 CS: Huh.
17 YM: But I've already talked to oh, God, twenty of her friends and they're all telling
18 well, she kind of likes to do this. Occasionally she'll do this.
19 CS: Honestly I have no idea what kind of drugs. She would like to drink every so
20 often, but no, drugs I'm not sure,
21 YM: What about smoking weed?
22 CS: Not that I know of. I don't smoke weed and she knew I was uh, very against it so
23 maybe she kept that from me ....
24 YM: Uh-hum (affirmative),
25 CS: ... because uh, I'm asthmatic and can't do that (laughs).

3

Stutz, Christopher/Case #08-069208/GG

1 YM: Okay. Uhm, so this year, how often would you say you've seen her this year?
2 CS: Uh, see her?
3 YM: Uh-hum ( affirmative).
4 CS: Uhm,I would say when I came home uh,end of April was like the first time I
5 really saw her this year. Uhm, but I talked to her every so often. She would text
6 me maybe once a week or so.
7 YM: Okay.
8 CS: Uh-hum(affirmative).
9 YM: And have you been home I guess, home here in Orlando since April?
10 CS: End of April, yes sir.
11 YM: Okay. Spring, uh, summer br ... summer break I guess?
12 CS: Yeah (affirmative).
13 YM: Okay. And you, you came in here with actually a couple of notes and ....
14 CS: Yeah (affirmative).
15 YM: ...just want to go over a couple of them. It says May 17th you spent the night at
16 the house...
17 CS: Yes.
18 YM: ..your house?
19 CS: Yes sir, my parents ...
20 YM: ..Spent the night with Caylee.
21 CS: My parents weren't home and she ended up staying the night.
22 YM: Okay. The same thing with Mother's Day.
23 CS: Mother's Day she just came for the day.
24 YM: Okay.
25 CS: Uhm ...

4

Stutz, Christopher/Case #08-069208/GG

1 YM: And Caylee was with her?
2 CS: Caylee was with her and my parents saw her and uh, started interacting with
3 them.
4 YM: Uh, also it says here June 17th uh, a dark colored Jeep Cherokee with New York
5 plates uh...
6 CS: Without Cayiee.
7 YM: And that was, or how did, how did you see her? Did she come to your house
8 with that or?
9 CS: Yeah (affirmative), she drove over. Uhm, I had saw her I think it was the night
10 before I saw her just randomly and so she decided to stop by the next day. We
11 didn't really hang out or anything like that.
12 YM:. How sure are you that it was June 17th?
13 CS: I'm pretty sure. My mother and I went over it because she remember Cay ... uh,
14 Casey coming over and we had just bought a treadmill.
15 YM: Uh-hum (affirmative).
16 CS: So it was either the 17th or 18th, or possib1y the 19th. It's one of those three days.
17 YM: Okay.
18 CS: We're sure of that.
19 YM; Okay, so you've looked at a calendar and you're, you're pretty confident those
20 are the dates?
21 CS: Yeah (affirmative), we went over that, yeah (affirmative), because she just bought
22 the treadmill and uhm, she was using the treadmill when Casey came over
23 YM: Did she just stop by to say hi? Did you guys talk about her coming over? How
24 did that(inaudible)?
25

5

Stutz, Christopher/Case #08-069208/GG

1 cs: Uh, she just stopped by to say hi. She was there for maybe an hour and a half,
2 two hours.
3 YM: Was she with anyone else?
4 CS: No.
5 YM: And then including Caylee?
6 CS: Including Caylee.
7 YM: Did she say where Caylee was?
8 CS: No.
9 YM: Did you ask?
10 CS: No.
11 YM: Okay. Uh, what was her demeanor when she came to you on the 17th of June?
12 CS: Uhm, she was happy. She was distressed about her parents. She said that her
13 parents were getting a divorce or getting split up.
14 YM: Oh.
15 CS: Because her dad was apparently cheating on her, or cheating on the mom. And
16 so she's a little upset about that. But uhm, she barely went into that.
17 YM: Did uhm, she mention anything about dating someone new or what was going
18 on in her life?
19 CS: She knew, well at that point I already knew about Tony.
20 YM: How'd you know about Tony?
21 CS: Uhm, she, one of the text messages after the day she spent the night uhm, I was
22 like,"Hey what's up?" And how did, I don't know exact words but she's like,
23 "Where have you been? Have you checked Face Book or MySpace? Uhm,just
24 (unintelligible) that I've been dating somebody."
25 YM: And this was around the end of May, beginning of June or?

6

Stutz, Christopher/Case #08-069208/GG

1 CS: Yeah (affirmative), probably the beginning of June.
2 YM: Okay. Did you ever meet Tony?
3 CS: No, I never met Jesse either.
4 YM: Okay. Uh, when you say text messages uh, I'm, I'm only going to ask this
5 because I've had a lot of her friends actually save the text messages. Do you, do
6 you have, or have you saved any of those text messages?
7 CS: No, I really haven't. I go through about two hundred a day and I just ended up
8 deleting them.
9 YM: Okay. So she showed up to your house on June, I'm sorry, your parents' house
10 where you're staying..
11 CS: Yes.
12 YM: ... on June 17th?
13 CS: Right.
14 YM: Uh, July 17th, July 7th it says Buffalo Wings with a friend.
15 CS: I was with a friend uhm, just eating Buffalo Wild Wings and she texted me saying,
16 "Hey I hope you're enjoying your date," I believe was the exact words.
17 YM: Uh-hum (affirmative).
18 CS: And uhm, I asked her, "What do you mean?" And she's like, she's there and she
19 came up and said hi and that was about it and she went back with her friends,
20 YM: Okay. And you were with a girl I take it?
21 CS: Yeah (affirmative).
22 YM: Okay. Uhm, who was she with? Do you remember? It says here ...
23 CS: Uhm ...
24 YM: ... you wrote ....
25 CS: I think it was Sean Daly and uhm, she said, I didn't see (spelling) ....

7

Stutz, Christopher/Case #08-069208/GG

1 YM: Uh-hum (affirmative),
2 CS: , .. but she said she was with Iassen. I don't know his last name.
3 YM: Okay. And what were they doing? Were they just, it was them three?
4 CS: Oh, they were just, they were, just eating, uhm, and watching the TV a little bit. I
5 don't think there was any fights are on or anything like that
6 YM: Is that (spelling)?
7 CS: Uh, yeah (affirmative), I believe so.
8 YM: So nothing out of the ordinary that night? Just-hanging out?
9 CS: Yeah (affirmative).
10 YM: And between these dates that you wrote down uh, oh, have you guys like texted
11 or, or how ....
12 CS: Oh, oh ... ,
13 YM: ... would you communicate or?
14 CS: Not really. We kind of fell off from then on. I mean and that's when we started
15 talking again.
16 YM: Uh-hum (affirmative).
17 CS: Uhm, she texted me on my birthday which was a few days like later. Maybe a
18 week later or so. Uhm, just seeing what my plans for the night were and
19 everything like that.
20 YM: Did she ask you what you, or did she tell you what she was going to do that
21 night, or what she was ....
22 CS: No.
23 YM: .,. what her plans were?
24
25

8

Stutz, Christopher/Case #08-069208/GG

1 CS: Huh-huh (negative). She asked what my plans were and I said, "Nothing yet. I
2 got to work at eight in the morning," and uhm, that was it. She never texted me
3 back.
4 YM: And that was July 13th or 14th?
5 CS: Yes sir.
6 YM: Did she say anything over the text messages or, or in any conversation about
7 where she was staying, what was going on with her life, did she say, throw up
8 any red flags ....
9 CS: Huh-huh (negative).
10 YM: ...and make you go, you know, hey what's going on with her?
11 CS: Oh, no sir. Because whenever we would go out she'd always say she was either
12 Casey, or Caylee was at the nanny's or her parents. She would never give a
13 specific name or a specific location.
14 YM: Did ....
15 CS: She said it was by UCF was the nanny.
16 YM: Did she ever mention the nanny's name?
17 CS: No. She never said. She just said the nanny and...
18 YM: Have you ever seen the nanny?
19 CS: No sir.
20 YM: Have you ever been with her to drop the kid off at the nanny?
21 CS: No sir.
22 YM: Or pick up the kid from the nanny?
23 CS: No sir.
24 YM: Okay. What are your thoughts on this nanny?
25

9

Stutz, Christopher/Case #08-069208/GG

1 CS: Uhm, uh, at first I thought it was nothing. You know, ! mean I didn't think
2 anything of it. But now looking back on it I should have asked who it was and
3 whatever.
4 YM: Do you know of anyone, or a mutual friend, that has ever seen this nanny?
5 CS: No. Because I worked with some people that knew Casey and none of them
6 have ever seen the nanny.
7 YM: Uhm, speaking of people that you work with, or people that you, you guys know
8 together or work with, have, has she ever mentioned Jeffrey Hopkins to you?
9 CS: No.
10 YM: You have no idea who that is?
11 CS: No idea who it is.
12 YM: What about Juliette Lewis?
13 CS: Huh-huh (negative).
14 YM: Uhm, well did she ever teH you why you, I guess while you guys started dating,
15 you started dating last year.
16 CS: Yeah (affirmative).
17 YM: Did she say what she did for, for work or?
18 Cs: She said she was working at Sports Authority for a while.
19 YM: Uh-hum (affirmative).
20 CS: And then after we broke up for a little bit and we were still friends she said that
21 she went to Universal and started working uhm, as a event coordinator.
22 YM: So while you were dating she said she worked for Sports Authority?
23 CS: And said the one on uh, Alafaya and by Waterford Lakes,
24 YM: Did she uh, did she ever come home with a uniform or show you a pay stub or...
25 CS: No.

10

Stutz, Christopher/Case #08-069208/GG

1 YM: ...get you like some rebates on shoes or anything like that?
2 CS: No, I don't ...
3 YM: Rebates on clothes? Have you ever, did you ever visit her at work when you two
4 were dating?
5 Cs: No. No sir.
6 YM: Okay. Oh, what about Universal? After you guys broke up did you ever uhm, did
7 she ever get you free passes to Universal or, or hook you up with anything over
8 there?
9 CS: Nothing like that. Uhm, the only thing that I ever saw, which it could have been
10 from 2006, ! don't know, she had uh, Mardi Gras beads with her name tag on it,
11 with her picture i.d. (identification) ...
12 YM: Uh-hum (affirmative).
13 Cs: ...in her car. It was hanging from the rearview mirror.
14 YM: Her car being that white ....
15 CS: The uh, Sunfire.
16 YM: Okay. Uhm, so she told you she was working at Universal after you guys broke
17 up? She said ...
18 CS: Right
19 YM: ...she had just gone back to Universal or?
20 CS: Yeah (affirmative), she went back. Uhm, a job, a manager from Universal came
21 to Sports Authority and talked to Casey, uhm, saying that we'd like you back to
22 do this. But uhm, she went and she started working there, But then she started
23 saying that she was going to become a personal trainer. She never said where.
24 She just said she was working out a lot to do that.
25

11

Stutz, Christopher/Case #08-069208/GG

1 YM: And uhm, but she told you this guy came to talk to her. You weren't there? You
2 didn't witness it?
3 CS: No, I didn't witness. Thafs all what she said.
4 YM: Did uhm, she ever call you from her work, or she ever you know, tell you to call
5 her at work?
6 CS: No, it's always ...
7 YM: Do you remember?
8 CS: ... her on her cell phone. She said she'd be in her back office and she was able
9 to talk on her cell phone. Because she had Cingular. We could talk for free.
10 YM: Okay. Well let's go back here to your, to your uh, your sheet of notes here. It
11 said uh, July 13th, 14th, text were made from Casey about plans. And then....
12 CS: Yeah (affirmative).
13 YM: ...on July 15th?
14 CS: Yeah (affirmative), I was driving to work and I saw a girl that looked exactly like
15 Casey uhm, running down Chickasaw. Just you know, a workout run.
16 YM: Uh-hum (affirmative).
17 CS: Uhm, I texted her if she was running down Chickasaw and she said no, and that
18 was the end of that.
19 YM: About what time was that? Do you remember?
20 CS: I was going to work so I'd say probably nine, nine-thirty.
21 YM: Okay. So uhm, about nine, nine-thirty in the morning you texted her after she
22 was running. Did she say anything, what was going on on the 15th? Did she say,
23 you know, hey, cops are here, or hey, I'm busy?
24 CS: No nothing like that.
25 YM: Nothing? Uhm, July 16th. Was that the next time you actually..

12

Stutz, Christopher/Case #08-069208/GG

1 CS: She texted me.
2 YM: Uh-hum (affirmative).
3 CS: Uhm, which I don't know, uh, it might be the brother using her phone. I'm not
4 sure. Uhm, it said that uhm, Caylee is missing for thirty-two days. Uh, if you've
5 seen her please call my cell phone or their house phone number. And I replied
6 saying, "What?" Like ecstatic, what?
7 YM: Uh-hum (affirmative).
8 CS: And then uh, there was no answer back. And then uhm, later on that day when I
9 was at work uhm, Lee Anthony called me uhm, basically asking if I knew
10 anything and doing his own little...
11 YM: Sure.
12 CS: ...private investigation.
13 YM: Uhm, Casey tried calling you from the jail?
14 CS: Yes sir,
15 YM: Do you remember about what time that was?
16 CS: I believe it was eleven-thirty, eleven-forty-five at night.
17 YM: Okay. Did she say anything while she, while there, the connection was trying to
18 go through did she say you know, please help, or just...
19 CS: I...
20 YM: ...her name or...
21 CS: I didn't, well what happens with, it was the Orange County Correction Facility I
22 believe is what it was. And said, do you accept the call from Casey and it was
23 her voice. That was the only voice I heard from her. And I hung up, uhm, called
24 my parents, asked what to do. They said don't answer it. And she called back
25 probably three, four minutes later

13

Stutz, Christopher/Case #08-069208/GG

1 YM: Okay. And since she's been in jail has she, have you actually talked to her while
2 she was in jail at al!?
3 CS: No.
4 YM: Have you visited her or anything?
5 CS: No sir.
6 YM: Okay. Uhm, it says here you called Crimeline.
7 CS: That was July 17th, yes sir. Uhm, I was at work and I took a break from work and
8 tried calling them. It took a couple times to get through and then I finally
9 got through and gave them all the information.
10 YM: Okay. Which was kind of, what information did you give them? We've been ....
11 CS: Basically this whole list.
12 YM: Okay.
13 CS: Uhm, I had just, everything I could remember at the time.
14 YM: And Detective WhIte ca1led you, I guess tried to reach out?
15 CS: July 18th, Uhm ....
16 YM: 18th.
17 CS: 18th and I called him back probably an hour after that and then the next day
18 because I was in Tampa helping my aunt move.
19 YM: Okay. Did, did she ever go to Tampa with you?
20 CS: No. That was probably the first time I've really been to Tampa.
21 YM: Okay.
22 CS: My aunt just moved from Atlanta, Georgia, so.
23 YM: Okay. This uh, there's a number scribbled on here. 1-5-6 ....
24 CS: That was a case number uhm, that the Crimeline gave me.
25

14

Stutz, Christopher/Case #08-069208/GG

1 YM: Dash 1-2, oh, okay. Got you, got you, got you. So just to clarify and kind of back
2 up, the last time. you actually saw Casey was June 17h, the 18th or 19th, around
3 there, when she came up to your house uh, driving ....
4 CS: Well the last time I saw her was July 7th at Buffalo Wild Wings.
5 YM: Oh, okay. Buffalo Wild Wings with Iassen and Sean Daly?
6 CS: Yeah Iassen, Sean Daly.
7 YM: Uhm, she wasn't with Caylee?
8 CS: No.
9 YM: The time before that was June 17th, 18th, or 19th, she stopped by. Do you
10 remember what time of day that was?
11 CS: I want to say I had gotten off of work so five-ish. Uh, it's somewhere around five.
12 YM: Okay. How long did she stay?
13 CS: An hour or two hours.
14 YM: Just, just talking while she's, you were hanging out?
15 CS: Yeah (affirmative), we were, we were...
16 YM: ...(Inaudible)?
17 CS: ...sitting on the couch just watching TV and talking.
18 YM: Okay. Did she say who the car's was?
19 CS: Uhm, no. She said that her car broke down and she was just borrowing it from a
20 friend. She didn't say who. Which her car was acting up last Ume I saw her.
21 Like on May 17th she tried to start it and it wouldn't turn over. I kept telling her I'd
22 fix it, but, uh.
23 YM: Alright. So the last time you saw her was July 7th? And then you never, she
24 never sent you a text about Caylee, or a text about you know...
25 CS: Well except for the one that's saying that she was missing for thirty-two days.

15

Stutz, Christopher/Case #08-069208/GG

1 YM: And that was?
2 CS: Uh, July 16th.
3 YM: Okay.
4 CS: Uhm, that was the only ...
5 YM: So between July 16th and June, July 7th, any messages about Caylee or her
6 whereabouts...
7 CS: No sir.
8 YM: ...or missing? Alright. What do you think kind of happened? You, you, you've
9 known her for three years. You, you kind of dated her. You talked to her. Well
10 what's your, what's your gut feeling saying about what happened?
11 CS: Honestly, I, I can never see her harming her on purpose. But something's telling
12 me that something accidentally happened, you know, and now she's scared to do
13 anything about it. I know that's farfetched or anything like that. Or the boyfriend
14 has something to do with it. I don't know, there's so many theories that have
15 been going in my head.
16 YM: Did she ever make any comments to you about uhm, how Caylee might have
17 kind of disrupt their life and she coudn't do?
18 CS: No. She said, I mean obviously she was a surprise, but she never said anything
19 like that where she tried to, or that Caylee was harmful to Casey, you know, as
20 far as disrupting her life.
21 YM: Uh, kind of like uh, she's an obstacle? Uh, she can't go out and have friends and
22 then party and, and she has to always worry about. She ever mention anything,
23 or ever come across to you like...
24 CS: Not really. I mean she always, her daughter was her life. Her daughter was the
25 first part of her life, you know, and she'd go out with her friends, Like when we

16

Stutz, Christopher/Case #08-069208/GG

1 went out we didn't really go out drinking at all, yeah (affirmative). Uhm, we'd go
2 out and go to a movie and then her mom would call her at twelve o'clock at night
3 saying, "You need to come home," and she'd go home.
4 YM: Did she ever tell you what her relationship was with her mom?
5 CS: Uhm, she said that she just had a really strong relationship with her mom, but not
6 so much with her dad.
7 YM: Did she say why or?
8 CS: Uhm, she said that her dad would get involved in her life too much and like try to
9 push his beliefs on her. Like uhm, just how you should act, how you should
10 work. When, and uh, when this whole situation happened where they thought
11 they were getting a divorce, her mom said that you know, we're going to be
12 together and dad's going to be out of our life, I guess that was a lie then.
13 YM: Uh-hum (affirmative),
14 CS: But uh ...
15 YM: Did she say ...
16 CS: (Unintelligible,) Oh, she was talking about buying a house. Uhm, I forget what
17 the subdivision was called. It's by the dump on Curry Ford. Uhm, that her and
18 her mom were talking about going and getting a new house for her and all this
19 other stuff. And she was saying that two hundred and fifty thousand dollars is
20 cheap for a house, which I don't know what kind of house she was looking at,
21 but, (chuckles).
22 YM: Do you know when this conversation was about the house?
23 CS: Uhm, it was actually July, when she came over, or June 17th, sorry.
24 YM: Okay, so June 17th she started saying about her and her mom moving into a
25 different house (inaudible)?

17

Stutz, Christopher/Case #08-069208/GG

1 CS: No, just her and Caylee.
2 YM: Oh, okay.
3 CS: And but the mom would come and look at it with them. Which I found out was
4 not true at all. They had never even looked at it.
5 YM: You ever meet Amy Huizenga, her friend?
6 CS: Uhm, yes.
7 YM: She ever say anything about moving in with Amy or?
8 CS: No. Uhm, I actually, one more thing, I just went over to Casey's house with her
9 parents and all her friends ....
10 YM: Uh-hum (affirmative).
11 CS: ... about a week lat. .. not last Sunday, the Sunday before last.
12 YM: Uh-hum (affirmative).
13 CS: So I don't know if that has anything to do with it.
14 YM: Uhm, what, what were you guys talking about at the house? What was the
15 conversation about?
16 CS: Uhm, basically we were trying to give all the information to get her mom to figure
17 out anything that's going on, and kind of all of us to vent to each other because
18 we....
19 YM: Alright.
20 CS: We can't really talk to anybody else about it. And uhm, it was basically her
21 closest friends.
22 YM: Did you, if you had to pick someone that Casey was very, very close to, uh, and
23 she would consider her best friend...
24 CS: Yeah (affirmative).
25 YM: ...who would that be?

18

Stutz, Christopher/Case #08-069208/GG

1 CS: Uhm, Annie. Uhm, and, and ....
2 YM: ( Spelling)?
3 CS: ... her last name. Yes. Her last name starts with a B. Uhm, which, we, when I,
4 we were going out we'd go to concerts together and you know, we were together
5 a lot. ..
6 YM: Uh-hum (affirmative).
7 CS: ...and they were together a lot.
8 YM: Did uhm, did Casey ever have a place where she liked to go to think? Any like
9 alone places that you know of? Like she ever mention a park or?
10 CS: She'd go to uhm, it's a park up at Dean. Jay Blanchard.
11 YM: Blanchard Park?
12 CS: Yeah (affirmative).
13 YM: And one particular area she would go or sit, you know ....
14 CS: No, she" ..
15 YM: Why would she go there?
16 CS: Just to take Caylee out And she never gave a reason. She just said to take
17 Caylee out and play with her out in the yard.
18 YM: Okay. You ever been with her at Blanchard Park when she took Caylee?
19 CS: No.
20 YM: Uhm, aside from that was there any other quiet places that she would go, or any
21 place, like if she was stressing out and ...
22 CS: Right.
23 YM: ...and she would go somewhere like ....
24 CS: Uhm ....
25 YM: ...like some people go to the beach, or some people ...

19

Stutz, Christopher/Case #08-069208/GG

1 CS: Right.
2 YM: ...just, you know ....
3 CS: Well she would drive to the beach sometimes. Uhm, I've been to the beach with
4 her a couple times with Caylee
5 YM: Uh-hum (affjrmative).
6 CS: ...and they, with friends. But she would drive to the beach with friends. Nothing
7 really alone. Like she never, the only place she ever said she went alone with
8 Cayles was uh, Blanchard, at least to me.
9 YM: Do you know any places over on the, on the far east side, like near Bithlo? Any
10 friends that might live out there?
11 CS: Not that I can think of.
12 YM: No? Uh, so aside from Amy, well is there anyone else that she would open up
13 to, or kind of you know, ...
14 CS: Uhm ....
15 YM: ... tell her dirty, little secrets to, or anything like that?
16 CS: Not, not that I can think of. I mean ...
17 YM: Okay. (Makes sounds.) I know, I know I've asked you a bunch of questions.
18 CS: Yes sir.
19 YM: You know I don't know if there's anything that I might have stepped over here
20 and I apologize. Is there anything else that, that you think uh, about Casey,
21 about Caylee, about this whole situation that you think is important that I should
22 know about?
23 CS: Uhm, (sighs).
24 YM: Any actions, or conversation, or, or just stuff that happened...
25 CS: Yeah (affirmative), I mean ....

20

Stutz, Christopher/Case #08-069208/GG

1 YM: ...that made you go, hmm?
2 CS: Uh, see that's, the whole thing has been weird because I've seen the way she
3 interacts with her kid, and I've been to that house a million, her house a million
4 times and seen her fall down and she'd pick her up and kiss her and like, "You're
5 okay," and then that's it. So it's, the whole thing just strikes me weird that
6 anything would happen where she's acting the way she does in court.
7 YM: Uhm, have you ever caught her in a lie?
8 CS: Oh, (sighs).
9 YM: (Inaudible)?
10 CS: Yes. But it was something nominal, like where she was like as far as like you
11 know, she was out with a friend and she told me she was at home. But...
12 YM: Did you ever uhm, uhm, did you ever have reason to doubt that she worked at
13 Universal?
14 CS: No.I mean she always seemed like she had money. And I know they said she
15 was taking from her parents or something, but like she would never have me pay
16 for anything when we went out. Like she would always offer to pay but I would
17 pay for two tickets, or something like that. She would never want me to pay for
18 anything.
19 YM: How would she pay for stuff like when she paid? Do you remember?
20 CS: Uh, she had cash.
21 YM: What about uhm, when she worked for Sports Authority? She ever?
22 CS: (Sighs.) Uhm...
23 YM: Again, you, you never saw her working there? Uh, she just told you that?
24 CS: Yes sir.
25

21

Stutz, Christopher/Case #08-069208/GG

1 YM: Okay. Alright. Is there anything else about this whole thing that, that comes to
2 mind, or anything that you kind of ...
3 CS: Uhm ....
4 YM: ...you know wanted to let me know about as far as Casey?
5 CS: I'm trying to think of anything. Uhm, I really can't think of anything. I mean...
6 YM: Okay,
7 CS: Uhm, the day before Mother's Day, which was I think Cinco De Mayo, I saw her
8 on Cinco De Mayo. She came over. I was out with a bunch of my friends and
9 then she was sitting and talking with my parents for a couple hours. I came
10 home and we decided to go out.
11 YM: Uh-hum (affirmative).
12 CS: But thafs the only thing I can think of.
13 YM: Has she ever borrowed your, or borrowed any family member's cars to do any
14 errands?
15 CS: Huh-huh (negative). Never borrowed any of our cars.
16 YM: Okay. And we're pretty, and we're pretty confident that the last couple times you
17 saw her were July 7th at Buffalo Wild Wings where you saw her with other
18 people?
19 CS: Right.
20 YM: Uh, June 17th when she came to you house, 17th, 18th or 19th when she came to
21 you hous...
22 CS: Right. It was...
23 YM: ...and then...
24 CS: ...in that area, yeah (affirmative).
25 YM: Okay.

22

Stutz, Christopher/Case #08-069208/GG

1 CS: That was like as much as I could remember.
2 YM: so before June, between June 17 and July 7th you're pretty confident you didn't
3 see her...
4 CS: Yeah (affirmative).
5 YM: ..in person?
6 CS: I'm almost a hundred percent.
7 YM: What about from May 17th to June 17th, how confident are you that you hadn't,
8 you didn't see her?
9 CS: (Sighs.) Well I told you I saw her at the bar briefly. Like just a brief encounter
10 and that was it.
11 YM: Which bar?
12 CS: I want to say Scoops. It's off of 50 and Alafaya.
13 YM: And who was she with? Do you remember?
14 CS: No. She wasn't with anybody when I saw her. But we kind of went our separate
15 ways.
16 YM: Do you remember uh, approximately when this was?
17 CS: (Sighs.)
18 YM: If you don't know a date that's fine, but just kind of a, a ballpark.
19 CS: It was probably like the beginning of June maybe.
20 YM: At Scoops?
21 CS: Or no, it's probably closer to June 17th then, like so mid-June because uhm, she
22 decided to come over a few days later, later, later on, and just stop to say hey.
23 YM: Okay. so some, a couple days before that June 17, 18th, 19th you..
24 CS: Yeah (affirmative), I saw...
25 YM: ..ran into at Scoops?

23

Stutz, Christopher/Case #08-069208/GG

1 CS: ...I...
2 YM: And you didn't see her with anyone or?
3 CS: No. She was with nobody and then uh, she decided to walk away and, because
4 there's two parts of Scoops.
5 YM: Uh-hum (affirmative).
6 CS: I don't know if, I mean but uh, uhm, there's a bar area then ....
7 YM: Right.
8 CS: ...a dance floor area. So once it gets crowded you don't really see anybody
9 again. And I was with my friends.
10 YM: So did, did she, when you guys got to Scoops, you and your friends, did she just
11 come up to you and start talking or (inaudible).
12 CS: Yeah (affirmative). She's like, "Hey, Chris." And I went, "Well hey, what's going
13 on?" And then we talked for probably five minutes. She was like, "Okay, I got to
14 go." "Gh,. okay."
15 YM: Alright. Uhm ....
16 CS: And that's about it though.
17 YM: Well, you, you've got my number so if you remember anything yeah (affirmative),
18 by all means shoot me a call. Believe it or not, you know, even the smallest
19 things are, are important to us...
20 CS: Yeah (affirmative), okay.
21 YM: ...because we're trying to, you know, piece together a very, big puzzle.
22 CS: Yeah (affirmative).
23 YM: So you have, you have open contact. Call me. And I apologize if I don't answer
24 bUt. ..
25 CS: No, no that's fine.

24

Stutz, Christopher/Case #08-069208/GG

1 YM: ...as, as you'd expect I'm usually on my phone.
2 CS: No, no, yeah (affirmative), that's completely fine.
3 YM: Uhm, uhm, would you raise your right hand for me? Do you swear and affirm
4 everything you just told me is the truth?
5 CS: Yes sir.
6 YM: Okay.
7 End of recorded statement.
