Nov. 10 - BOULDER - A bomb threat phoned in to John Ramsey's former business closed part of the popular Pearl Street Mall on Tuesday afternoon.

Some 500 employees at Access Graphics, 1426 Pearl St., were evacuated from their offices after a male caller phoned in the threat at 1:30 p.m.

The caller told a receptionist, "There is a bomb in the building. You had better take me seriously.'' Boulder police said there was no indication the call was related to Ramsey, the company's founder.

The Boulder County bomb squad cleared the building by 3 p.m. and employees were allowed back into the building. However, Access Graphics decided to send everyone home.

During the bomb scare, police closed off the Pearl Street Mall between 14th and 15th streets. A few businesses adjacent to Access Graphics closed voluntarily.

Ramsey left the company in the wake of his daughter JonBenet's slaying in 1996. John and Patsy Ramsey, along with their son, Burke, later moved to an Atlanta suburb.

The parents remain "under an umbrella of suspicion'' in connection with their 6-year- old daughter's death.

The Boulder detective division is investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call 303-441-3330.
