Linda Hoffman-Pugh was the Ramseys' former housekeeper in Boulder, Colorado and was named by the Ramseys as a potential suspect in their book and in public statements.

Linda Pugh filed a $50 million lawsuit claiming libel and slander, filed in U.S. District Court, Atlanta, March 2001.

Filing the complaint on Linda Hoffmann-Pugh's behalf (who is a Colorado resident) is Atlanta attorney Evan M. Altman, a former FBI agent, and New York attorney Darnay Hoffman.

While reading a new book on the case, "Perfect Murder, Perfect Town," by Lawrence Schiller, Pugh learned for the first time that she was named as a possible suspect by Patsy Ramsey.

Linda Pugh is working on a book and is waiting on a court decision that would allow her to openly discuss her grand jury testimony that's currently under seal.

On July 7, 2001 a Daily Times article titled, "Ramsey suits disputed","Steve Thomas filed a motion Thursday 7-5-2001 to prevent his deposition by the Ramseys' attorney in another libel case filed against them. That deposition had been scheduled for Monday the 9th. At issue in that suit is a book written by John and Patsy Ramsey, which named a former housekeeper, Linda Hoffman-Pugh, and a Boulder County journalist, Chris Wolf, as suspects. Diamond said Thomas shouldn't have to be deposed more than once in the civil cases and questioned why Thomas should be a witness in the Wolf case. "Steve is no longer part of the investigation," Diamond said."
