[Abraham Shakespeare]Abraham Shakespeare MURDERED - Plant City, Florida (Hillsborough Co.) April 2009
Abraham Shakespeare (42) won $31 million dollars in the Florida Lottery in 2006. He took a lump sum payout of approximately $17 million. He remained a frugal person as he had before his lottery windfall, but after numerous failed real estate transactions, loans, and friendships Abraham has suddenly gone missing. He was last seen in the Lakeland area in April 2009. Dorice Emma Donegan Moore (AKA Dee Dee Moore) stated in the media that she bought out Abraham's debts to enable him to move away to escape paying child support arrears for a second child that was born after the lottery windfall. Law Enforcement believes there may be more to this story. Abraham Shakespeare's body was found on January 28, 2010 buried beneath a cement slab on the rear property of Shar Krasniqi located at 5802 S.R.60 East, Plant City, Florida 33567. Shar Krasniqi was the boyfriend of Dorice Emma Donegan Moore (AKA Dee Dee Moore). On February 2, 2010 Dee Dee Moore was arrested, first charged with Accessory after the fact and later with First Degree Murder of Abraham Shakespeare.

DONEGAN: Linda Donegan.

HOLLIS: Okay. Also, uh, Detective Wallace from the Polk County Sheriff's Office. And this is in reference to Case Number 2010-42631. (Clearing throat) Uh, Miss Donegan, would you mind raising your right hand for me? Do you swear and affirm all the information you're gonna tell us today is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth?

DONEGAN: Yes, it is.

HOLLIS: Okay. All right. Uh, basically we had just finished talking to your husband Patrick. And uh, Dee Dee is your daughter?

DONEGAN: Yes, Dee Dee's my daughter.

HOLLIS: And y'all were at her residence, uh, last night?

(Dog barking continuously in background)

DONEGAN: Yes, We were there last night.

HOLLIS: Okay. Just tell me what happened when y'all were there.

DONEGAN: Uh, we were at her residence last night and she said that she wanted us to all go away and she didn't like RJ being questioned and James being questioned and accused of the murder and that she, uh, went down and turned herself in and turned the gun in that he was killed with and he wouldn't arrest her. And then she, uh..her dad said, uh, he wished he could, you know, take her place and she said, well would you really, Dad? And asked him how old he was and what his sicknesses were and all. He said, no, I's just kidding, I..I wouldn't do that. And she said, well I'm not guilty anyway. I'm not worried. I'm not guilty. I just want it to all go away.

HOLLIS: Uh-huh.

DONEGAN: And then sh..I proceeded to ask her that I had heard that James had dug the hole for the body and I ask her who put the body in the hole and she said she don't know, she thinks it was the two drug dealers. I said, well what time of day did it happen? She said..cause I said, how did the neighbors not see it? She said it happened at seven o'clock at night and after James dug the hole, I took him to dinner and then we came back and there was a bunch of debris and trash in the hole and covered it up. Then the next day I had concrete put over it. I said, why didn't you, you know, call the police right away? She says cause I was afeared (sic) for RJ's life that he was gonna get killed.

HOLLIS: Uh-huh.

DONEGAN: Because what happened that night was Abraham was strangling me cause I wouldn't take the amount of money out of the safe that he wanted to give these drug dealers. So one of'em, when Abraham started strangling her, uh, shot him in the shoulder here (indicating). Then she said, after they took his body out, this guy Johnny says that don't worry, he's alive. I said, well then how..if he was alive why was he digging the hole? She said, well..uh..and then she went blank like she's staring into space...went blank. So right then I knew something was wrong so I decided I'd call y'all today and turn over everything that she gave me to hold cause she wanted us to hold her jewelry and cameras and stuff because she said that, uh, drug dealers might wanna steal from her safe up there...in, uh...Lakeland.

HOLLIS: Okay. And then she came over this morning?

DONEGAN: Then she come over this morning, said she's very upset, she didn't wanna go to jail, never see her son again and all and she asked her dad, uh, something like would you really, you know, take my place or something because I'll have to go away the rest of my life if it's, you know, capital one murder.

HOLLIS: Uh-huh.

DONEGAN: And he said, no, I was just kidding, say that to your kids, you know...that you'd like to take their place instead of them suffering.

WALLACE: Okay. Uh..your husband told us a little bit that he's..he's..

DONEGAN: He forgets.

WALLACE: ...forgets a little bit, a little bit slower.

DONEGAN: Well, he just...

WALLACE: It's catching up with him.

DONEGAN: ...right.

WALLACE: Kind of. Uh..a couple weeks ago, probably within the last month, Dee Dee brought over three guns, two of'em being a 9mm and one being a .38 caliber.

DONEGAN: Right. Now I..I didn't see'em when she brought'em over cause I was inside babysitting the grandchildren.

WALLACE: Okay.

DONEGAN: But he told me about'em. I didn't see'em.

WALLACE: Right.

DONEGAN: But I saw'em when she picked'em up. She picked the two big guns up, uh like a week ago...or maybe it was more than that and said she had'em sold.

WALLACE: Uh-huh.

DONEGAN: And then Monday morning this week, she was all in a rush and wanted (clearing throat) to know where the locks was for the, uh, travel trailer..what, the trailer and she said she had to move her friend Debbie's stuff down here to..to, uh, the office. And then she...as she was gonna leave with our truck and trailer she asked her dad for the handgun that she had that sold, too.

WALLACE: Uh-huh.

DONEGAN: And he handed it to her.

WALLACE: And that was on Monday?

DONEGAN: That was Monday.

WALLACE: So when she left she was driving the white truck with the trailer...

DONEGAN: Right.

WALLACE: ...hooked to it?

DONEGAN: Uh-huh.

WALLACE: And I'm..I'm sure you've probably seen the television...

DONEGAN: Yeah. I seen...

WALLACE: ...and seen that both of those..or you might even driven by, it's only a little way ah...

DONEGAN: Yes.

WALLACE: ...uh, from here.

DONEGAN: Right.

WALLACE: Those..that would be the truck and the trailer that are currently at that...

DONEGAN: Right.

WALLACE: ...location?

DONEGAN: And, uh, I asked her over the phone why did she park'em right there? Where was the girl's stuff? And she says. well, uh, I'll tell ya when you get up here cause I'm being recorded or something like that. She thinks everybody's...

(Unknown musical tone in background)

DONEGAN: ...recording the phones.

HOLLIS: Okay.

DONEGAN: You know.

WALLACE: And uh...

DONEGAN: And she never did tell me why she parked the truck and trailer right there and throwed (sic) all her brother's stuff out of the trailer into the two story garage.

WALLACE: Right.

DONEGAN: He had a couch and some personal papers and pictures and all that and I think a...not Meiter, a wet saw, something for tile.

WALLACE: Uh..I guess going back a little bit. Obviously, this has been in the media, in the papers and all that...

DONEGAN: Uh-huh.

WALLACE: ...probably for the last two months or so.

DONEGAN: Right.

WALLACE: Uh, and your daughter's name was..was brought up probably within the last month...

DONEGAN: Right.

WALLACE: ...as a person of interest.

DONEGAN: Person of interest.

WALLACE: Prior to that did you have any information about there..did..had she talked to you anything about Abraham Shakespeare being missing and that the police were talking to her or did you learn about it from the media?

DONEGAN: No. She told me that y'all were questioning because (clearing throat) Cedric went over there and told them that he was missing since April because Cedric didn't wanna pay for his house he was in, she was trying to collect from Ced..Cedric money...

WALLACE: Uh-huh.

DONEGAN: ...that she said was owed to Abraham for the house that he lived in, that he had turned...well it was really owed to her because he'd turned all his assets over to her. And she said Cedric said that he was missing and she said he wasn't missing, he was in, uh, Puerto Rico. Puerto...

WALLACE: Oh, so she told you he was in Puerto Rico?

DONEGAN: Yes. She told me he was in Puerto Rico one time and then one time she told me he was in Orl..Orlando in a hospital, but he didn't wanna call and tell his mom cause he looked so bad.

WALLACE: Uh-huh.

DONEGAN: And then she told she didn't know where he was. Then she told me she didn't where he was, but he didn't wanna be bothered and he didn't want anybody to find him, that he just wanted to get away from everybody trying to borrow money from him and..and child support. That's what she said.

WALLACE: And then now in the last week, since we have found the...the..the remains of Abraham Shakespeare on this...

DONEGAN: Right.

WALLACE: ...property, what...what has she told you since that point?

INTERVIEW OF LINDA DONEGAN Page 6 of 13
HCSO CASE NO. 10-042631

DONEGAN: Since that point she told me that, uh..back in April that..well she told me two different stories. The first story was that three men come up with Abraham and Abraham wanted her to get some money out of the safe for these drug dealers and she said she wasn't gonna get that much money out of the safe and he started strangle her, so one of these guys shot him in the shoulder and then they dragged him out and they said, oh don't worry, uh, Miss Moore he's alive, don't worry. And then the next story she told me was that, uh..let's see, uh..there were two men there and it was a robbery and they shot Abraham.

WALLACE: So the first story (chuckling), I guess, these drug dealers, uh these robbing, murderous drug dealers defended her because she was getting strangled...

DONEGAN: Yes.

WALLACE: ..by one of the people who was trying to rob her.

DONEGAN: Right, yeah.

WALLACE: And they shot the other one, Abraham...

DONEGAN: Yeah.

WALLACE: ...and then when it was all said and done then miraculously left her...

DONEGAN: Yeah.

WALLACE: ...fine and...

DONEGAN: Well, yeah, that..that's what I didn't understand cause she said she was getting strangled by Abraham cause she wouldn't get the money out of the safe and this one guy, uh, shot Abraham in the shoulder.

WALLACE: With her gun?

DONEGAN: No, she didn't tell me what gun it was.

WALLACE: Oh, she didn't tell you that stuff?

DONEGAN: N..never told me what gun it was.

WALLACE: Okay.

DONEGAN: She never told me what gun it was this gun or what gun.

WALLACE: Okay.

DONEGAN: She never told me what gun it was.

WALLACE: All right. Then the other one...

(Clearing throat in background)

WALLACE: ...was just two guys that were robbing her and Abraham...

DONEGAN: Yeah.

WALLACE: ...at the house then?

DONEGAN: Right. Yeah. And they shot Abraham.

WALLACE: Okay. Prior to all of this, did you ever..uh, did..had you ever met Abraham?

DONEGAN: No, I never met Abraham at all whatsoever.

WALLACE: Okay. And I talked a little bit with your husband, maybe you can clarify a little bit more..in the last, let's say year, has there been a significant difference in the lifestyle that your daughter's been leading, financially?

DONEGAN: Oh yes. Oh yes, financially, yes. Been spending a lotta money. She took a trip to California. She took a trip to New York. She took a trip to..I think it's Pennsylvania to see Frank Lloyd Wright house cause Shar was going to college for architecture and they took a trip up there. And, uh..she's been buying all kinds of fancy cars and all. And I kept asking her where she got the money and she said, well (clearing throat), she had saved up a whole lotta money from all her Veterans hospital accounts that she had for the nurses and CNA's and that's what she bought the house from Abraham with. And then she said, uh, Shar's Corvette she bought with money that she got from turning somebody in for tax evasion. And then she said she gots the other two cars with the money that Abraham gave her, ten percent of the million dollars that she found in the bank that the banker had been hiding from Abraham. Cause she said when she met Abraham he didn't even have enough money to pay his house taxes, that she paid his house taxes for him.

WALLACE: Okay. Now prior to that, was she taking trips like that?

DONEGAN: Taking small trips but not trips like that.

WALLACE: Nothing one after another?

DONEGAN: No, not one after the other.

WALLACE: And (INAUDIBLE)...

DONEGAN: And she did have a Hummer but she was..she had bought it, uh...

UNKNOWN: Did she have a Hummer then?

DONEGAN: Yes, she had a Hummer but she had bought it with James.

WALLACE: She had bought it with James. It was an older Hummer?

DONEGAN: Yeah, it was an older Hummer, yeah.

WALLACE: But th..this one's a new one. There was a Corvette that...

DONEGAN: Brand new. The..all those three cars were bought cash.

WALLACE: Right.

DONEGAN: The Corvette, the truck and the Hummer were all bought cash.

WALLACE: Right. And that was all towards the beginning of last year, 2009?

DONEGAN: Right. Yeah.

WALLACE: So..so they were..I..I guess the family had questions but she always seemed to have some sorta..

DONEGAN: Yes.

WALLACE: ...answer.

DONEGAN: She has answer, you know. First, it was her Veterans hospital business. I knew she took in a lotta money when she did a lotta jobs, but lately she hadn't been paying attention, she had hired somebody else to work the phones and I wouldn't think she's taking in that much money.

WALLACE: Right.

DONEGAN: And then she said she had it all saved up. And then she had money from Abraham giving her a ten percent of a million dollars. And she had money for turning somebody in for..cause I asked her how she go the two story, she said that was from, uh, turning somebody in for tax evasion...the two story and the Corvette.

WALLACE: Okay.

DONEGAN: Yeah. And I don't think the government's gonna pay you that much money (INAUDIBLE).

WALLACE: (Laughing) No, probably not.

DONEGAN: I..don't think so.

WALLACE: What...prior to all of this and even the..the money and all that, from some of the stories we've got from other people, it seems like she's...through..almost throughout her life has been one story or fib after, you know...

DONEGAN: Uh...

WALLACE: ...kind of an untruthful b..background. Is that...

DONEGAN: That's true. Yeah. I..yeah...

WALLACE: That's true?

DONEGAN: ..she does tell a lotta untruths. Yes.

WALLACE: A lotta untruths. And..and your husband talked about a couple of'em

DONEGAN: Right.

WALLACE: They're not really relevant to here, just seems like a...from what..

DONEGAN: Right.

WALLACE: ..what we've seen, it's been one thing after another all the way back to the...the Mexicans sexually assaulting her and the car and there...

DONEGAN: Yes.

WALLACE: ...were some other cars burned.

DONEGAN: Yeah and I didn't even know until I read the newspaper that she's on probation. She has told us three Mexicans, uh, stole the car and they didn't appear in court so all charges were dropped against her..that they ran back to Mexico cause they knew they were guilty.

WALLACE: Oh.

DONEGAN: So all charges were dropped against her. And I w..I worked all the time so I

didn't go into any of her court cases to see what happened.

WALLACE: Right.

DONEGAN: I didn't even know she was on probation. I didn't know any of that. I'm learning a lot more stuff from the paper that I didn't even know.

WALLACE: Uh..okay.

DONEGAN: And we were both...now this I don't know if you know, we were both fired from Arcadia Medical, uh...Business in Tampa.

WALLACE: I had heard something about..I didn't know you were involved in that, but..

DONEGAN: Well I didn't know I was involved in it la..until later I was helping her clear some packages out and I found the slip saying I was fired for, uh..for, uh, misappropriating funds and I didn't know I was fired for that. I thought they just must've let me go because the office wasn't doing any business and we couldn't get any phone service there.

WALLACE: Uh-huh.

DONEGAN: The office on the right side had burnt down and, uh..the..and we had moved over to the left side. But then I found out later that she was paying a lotta people, uh, checks before they turned their time slips in. When you're working for a nursing home or hospital you gotta turn your time slip in first.

WALLACE: Right.

DONEGAN: And she was paying'em before.

WALLACE: Did you ever talk to her..I..I..I've talked to some people about that incident and, uh, I don't know the whole extent of it but basically that company, uh said she was misappropriating funds and...

DONEGAN: Right.

WALLACE: ...I believe they actually talked to the tune of somewhere around eighty thousand dollars.

DONEGAN: Wow! I knew nothing about that.

WALLACE: You didn't know anything...

DONEGAN: I didn't know anything about that.

WALLACE: And in fact, according to them, they suspected that the fire may have had to do...

DONEGAN: Oh, see I didn't...

WALLACE: ..something with..with the...Dee Dee.

DONEGAN: ..I didn't know nothing about that.

WALLACE: Nothing about that? She never discussed any of that?

DONEGAN: No. She never discussed any of that. The Fire Marshall said it was because of, uhhhh..the water leaking through the ceiling and all and getting on the wires and I guess the computer started it on fire or something.

WALLACE: Right.

DONEGAN: Yeah. I didn't know anything about that.

WALLACE: Okay. Uh..is there anything about this case that we have...well, let me ask you one more thing. There's several items here...

DONEGAN: Right.

WALLACE: ...that you're actually turning over to..to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

DONEGAN: Right. Yeah.

WALLACE: And these are items that were given to you by your daughter...

DONEGAN: Right. To hold...

WALLACE: ...Dee Dee.

DONEGAN: ...because she said she might need to sell'em because you all were, uh, gonna arrest her for Abraham did..being missing without even finding the body.

WALLACE: Okay. And this was before the body was...

DONEGAN: Yeah.

WALLACE: ..even found...

DONEGAN: Probably.

WALLACE: ...that she tell...

DONEGAN: Yeah. Before I even knew he even passed away.

WALLACE: Okay.

HOLLIS: And this is, uh, gold jewelry...

DONEGAN: Yeah.

HOLLIS: ...rings, watches...

DONEGAN: Gold jewelry, rings, watches...

HOLLIS: ...cameras.

DONEGAN: ...cameeras. Uh. legal papers, uh...

HOLLIS: Okay.

WALLACE: Some currency...

(Clearing throat in background)

DONEGAN: ..it that one a phone or an iPod? Is that a phone or an iPod?

HOLLIS: Uh, there is an iPod in there and a couple cell phones.

DONEGAN: There's a iPod in there and a couple of cell phones. Yeah. Yeah.

WALLACE: And all...and just to clear, everything you've turned over to us and all the statements you've given, those have been of your own free will, we haven't coerced you or...

DONEGAN: Oh no, it was my...

WALLACE: ..threatened you or anything like that?

DONEGAN: ..no, tho..those have been with my own free will, yes.

WALLACE: Uh, and everything that you've said in this statement is true and correct to the best of your knowledge?

DONEGAN: Right. True and correct..and..a lot of it's hearsay from her so I don't know what the story is, what's right.

HOLLIS: Yeah.

WALLACE: You just look..like I said, it..to your..to the best of your knowledge...

DONEGAN: Yes, to the best...

WALLACE: ..it's what you've been told.

DONEGAN: ..of my knowledge, that's what I've been told by Dee Dee.

WALLACE: Okay. Uh...

DONEGAN: To the best of my knowledge.

WALLACE: Is there anything that we haven't asked you about that you think is important to this investigation or anything else that seems strange to you?

DONEGAN: No. Just the fact that she was hiding the gun..and, uh, I think she's been acting funny lately. Very erratic behavior.

WALLACE: Uh-huh.

DONEGAN: And she can't seem to answer a question I asked her indirectly..starts looking at the sky and out in space said she wouldn't tell me why...that she put my truck and trailer over there. She wouldn't tell me, you know, just that Debra...she had to move Debra. And that seemed weird that she couldn't wait one day for her brother to come unlock the trailer. He had his lock on it and his stuff in it.

WALLACE: Right. Okay.

HOLLIS: All right. We're gonna end the interview. It's, uh, 1615 hours.

END OF INTERVIEW
