Updated 11/18/2007
"[Drew] Peterson, Carol [Hamilton] Brown and Dave Brown are all graduates of Willowbrook High School in Villa Park, where Peterson ran cross country. Peterson and Dave Brown graduated in the 750-member class of 1972. Carol Brown is three years their junior. Dave Brown, 53, a remodeling contractor, has known Peterson since junior high, when both were in accelerated classes together. They weren’t close but did play tennis together after high school. The two both noticed a young Carol when she was a freshman at Willowbrook and they were seniors. “She was the prettiest girl in the freshman class,” Dave Brown said. “She’d look at you, and you’d think 'wow.'" She had been bed-ridden in the weeks before, and Peterson was by her side, bringing her food and "always being very supportive of me," she said. Retired State Police Lt. Col. Ronald Janota was Drew Peterson's boss
Janota's side of the story "In 1985, Janota [Now retired State Police Lt. Col. Ronald Janota] was Peterson's boss at the Metropolitan Area Narcotics Squad -- working out of a "clandestine" office near Joliet, Janota told the Chicago Sun-Times this week. [Drew] Peterson, for reasons Janota said he has never been able to explain, allegedly sabotaged one of the squad's drug stings and gave the identity of an undercover narcotics agent to a convicted killer under investigation for dealing drugs, Janota said." "We found out from different sources that the identity of an Illinois State Police officer was revealed to the [killer], by Mr. Peterson," Janota said. " . . . We immediately notified the undercover officer that his life was in jeopardy." - "Obviously [the squad's investigation] had to be terminated immediately," Janota said." Drew Peterson's
reported "solo" drug investigation bumped into the state's investigation
Peterson's side of the story "But Peterson got in trouble in 1985, when he revealed to his supervisors that he'd embarked on a solo narcotics investigation of a convicted police killer and drug dealer -- the same man a State Police undercover officer was investigating, according to court documents. Although he knew about the other probe, Peterson never told his supervisors about his own investigation until it hit a dead end. "You had better take your guns off -- I have something to say that's real bad," Peterson allegedly told his supervisors at the time."

Peterson fired
Failure to report a bribe,
official misconduct
disobedience
"In 1985, [Drew] Peterson was fired after the village board of police and fire commissioners ruled he had conducted a self-assigned investigation, failed to report a bribe immediately and committed official misconduct and disobedience." [10/31/2007 "One dead, one gone"]

Then-Bolingbrook Police Chief William Charnisky recommended Peterson be fired, and the village police and fire board terminated Peterson. But two separate appellate court judges on different occasions said the firing was excessive. Peterson's lawyers have said he was just trying to put a dangerous criminal behind bars, that he never did anything illegal and never divulged the identity of the state undercover agent." "Hopefully not to wife No. 2's Her name was Vicki and she was a friend of mine. I knew her & Drew for several years. He was very controlling, extremely jealous and watched her every move. They had many serious fights and I did not like the way he treated her. We lost touch years ago because I moved away. I was shocked to see this all over the news and relieved to hear it was not her. So, it appears she got divorced from him. THANK GOD! She was his wife when he had his problems and was investigated by his department. It was an extremely rough time for her. Drew apparently did not change his strange, controlling combative behaviors with wives 3 & 4 either. I'm just glad my dear friend at the time was only his #2."

Kathleen Savio Domestic Complaints
"CHIEF RAYMOND MCGURY, BOLINGBROOK POLICE: "There was a series of complaints. And as I was speaking with your producer, I noted 18 different reports that were placed on file beginning, I believe, somewhere in February of 2002. And the last one was somewhere like November, I believe, of 2003." - "The chief at the time that was here in Bolingbrook made a wise decision, I believe, and said that any issues pertaining to Sergeant Peterson and Kathleen Savio are to be documented. And so that's why we have 18 separate reports. And of those 18 — I spent my weekend going through all of these meticulously — nine of those are visitation issues. You didn't drop the kids off on time. Call the police, document it, so can I use it in court. You didn't drop the kids off, or You're not giving me the kids. So 50 percent of those had to do with that type of thing. And I think you had insinuated that on one of your programs, that you know, oftentimes these things happen."

[Steve Carcerano said he was the one who found Kathleen Savio's body dead in a waterless bathtub after Drew Peterson beckened him to Kathleen's house March 1, 2004]
The Carcerano Files
Steve Carcerano: Drew started screaming, "Oh my God, oh my God! What am I gonna tell my kids?" ILL 11/08/2007 (www.nbc5.com) "Neighbor Who Found Savio"
"Steve Carcerano, who was Peterson's neighbor when he was married to Savio, said finding the body would be forever fused into his memory. "It's something you'd see in a movie; it was something I'll never forget," he said. Peterson has summoned his neighbor to the house, because Peterson said he hadn't heard from his estranged wife in nearly two days, Davlantes reported. Peterson told Carcerano, who was a locksmith and was going to be at the house soon, to open up the house and see what was going on. "I went from the closet to the bathroom," Carcerano said. "It looked like there was a rubber exercise ball or something in the whirlpool. When I looked down, it was Kathy. She was naked -- she was dead -- hair over her face." Carcerano, who said Peterson was steps behind him when the body was discovered in the home that Savio and Peterson owned, described Peterson's reaction when he saw Savio's body. "He ran upstairs and upon seeing her, he just broke down and started screaming, 'Oh my God, oh my God! What am I gonna tell my kids?'" Carcerano said."

Peterson said Kathleen's best friend was upset and wanted to check on Kathleen that night so Drew said "we" called the locksmith ILL MATT LAUER: Another reason there's so much attention being paid to you, Mr. Peterson, is because of the circumstances surrounding the death of your third wife, Kathy Savio. She drowned in her bathtub, according to the report at the time, an accidental drowning back in 2004. However, at the time there was no water in the bathtub. Her hair was matted with blood and apparently there was a one-inch gash on the back of her head. Now state officials are saying that it looks like an accident staged to cover a murder. What was your impression at the time she died? Did you think it was an accident? - Mr. PETERSON: "I was one of the first people there. And I was actually the watch commander of our town at the time that it happened. And I went ahead and met with her best friend because I haven't seen her for a couple of days, which was very unlike her, to not be seen or heard from. So I was planning the next day to go into her home, you know, with her neighbor, and see if she was OK, but her neighbor was upset and her best friend was upset, same person. And she wanted to go in that night. So we called the locksmith, went into the house. I didn't go in the house. I waited outside. Her friend..."

"I am writing what I'm hearing on Greta In the days and weeks leading up to Kittys' death she divorced she felt sorry for stacy; she was pregnant and he wanted to marry her before child was born; put off property settlement until later she agreed to it; and two weeks before settlement she was found dead in bathtub. StgP called her at 1am and said he had "really bad news" kitty was dead. He said she drowned in bathtub; and they went right over. DC says that it was an accident. No drugs no alcohol, oval corner bathtub; small; she was tall; how did she scrunch down under water? She had water in her nasal cavities but she was trying to breathe they said. Tub is too small to drown in ; thinks she had some "help" as she put it. Says husband knows more than he is telling. 1mil dollar policy; thought it was drew but it was changed to the two boys just prior to her death. He said he was going to kill her so she changed the policy just before she was killed! *chilling*"

Drew Peterson was returning two sons on weekend visitation discovered his third wife dead
Will County Coroner Patrick K. O'Neil
Death accidental
Suffered blunt trauma, lacerated scalp, injuries consistent with a fall, drowned in bathtub "[Kathleen] Savio, Peterson's third wife, died under mysterious circumstances in March 2004 soon after they divorced. Her body was discovered after Peterson attempted to return their two sons from a weekend visitation. No one answered the locked door and Peterson, who lived down the street from Savio with his new wife Stacy, sought help from a neighbor. The neighbor called a locksmith, and once entry was gained, went inside to find Savio's body in a waterless bathtub. The ensuing investigation revealed Savio drowned. The water in the bathtub may have drained out over time, investigators speculated. A coroner's [Will County Coroner Patrick K. O'Neil] jury ruled the death accidental. The state police investigation yielded no criminal charges. "Nobody looked at my sister's case close enough," Doman [Anna Marie Doman, the sister of Peterson's previous wife, Kathleen Savio] said. "I never got a call back (from police). It was like they couldn't be bothered."

We weren't allowed to go to the house that day. We went to the house the next day. We were allowed to go in the house. Larry, I don't know why this was not investigated. It was ruled an accidental drowning. The next day, everyone was in the house. Drew was in the house. We were in the house. I don't understand accidental drowning. You just don't drown in the bathtub, especially a small whirlpool. You just don't do that." - "We actually -- my family and I had gone through the house. Her purse, her keys and everything was out, but nothing was touched. Nothing looked at anything. "Three and a half years after Kathleen Savio was found dead in a bathtub [03/01/2004], her sister, Anna Doman, is speaking out for the first time [11/08/2007] for her desire to see her youngest sister exhumed from her eternal resting place. Her sister says Kathleen always lived in fear of her husband. "She came right here and told me. Oh, yeah, she said 'take care of my boys and I want you to make sure you get these papers because I want you to go get him," Anna Doman said. So that's why this sister is releasing the letter Savio wrote to the state's attorney, in the hopes that authorities will exhume Kathleen's body and find out exactly how she died. Anna Doman says Kathleen always believed that her husband, Drew Peterson, would hurt her. "She told me she'd never make it to the end of the divorce. She'd never make the property settlement," Anna Doman said. "That's a shame."

VAN SUSTEREN: "Do you remember when wife number three died, did anyone contact your mother about it?"

VAN SUSTEREN: "What did he say happened?"
LISA: "He just said that there was an accident with his wife, and you know, somebody might try and contact her to find out some information."

LISA: "I think she was kind of tossed up with it."
VAN SUSTEREN: "Meaning what?"
LISA: "Just didn't know what to think. You know, it's one of those things. Is that something that he could have done? Did he do that? I know that she didn't want to believe that. "On April 8, 2005, Will County Judge Michael Powers entered a judgment in the financial aspects of the divorce case. It awarded Drew Peterson the Blue Lightning Corp. and all the proceeds from the sale of the couple's home, according to the court documents filed by Kavanagh. The judgment also mentions what seems to be a fourth life insurance policy. "(It) provided that Drew Peterson would not be obligated to fund any college expenses for the minor children of the parties due to the fact that life insurance on the life of Kathleen in the amount of $1 million had been payable to the children," according to the document." "The effect of the judgment was to transfer anywhere from $144,117.65 to $288,235.31 (one-half to all of the proceeds of the home sale) from the four children who were the beneficiaries of the estate ... to Drew Peterson," according to court documents. Kavanagh [Lawyer Dick Kavanagh was the public administrator of Will County, a governor-appointed position] didn't approve of that move, apparently. Stacy's sister Tina Ryan died of cancer at age 30
STEVE CESARE, STACY'S FRIEND WHO RECEIVED E-MAILS FROM HER ABOUT DREW: I used to date her sister Tina about 10 years ago. And I always knew little Stacy as a little girl that came over to play, that type of thing. - LARRY KING: So you kept in constant touch over the years?
STEVE CESARE: Yes. Especially -- her sister Tina passed away last September [09/17/06] and she was very depressed from that. And we kept in touch over the summer through e-mail and phone calls. But it was limited, though.
LARRY KING: How old was her sister?
STEVE CESARE: Tina was only 30 when she passed away

"CHIEF RAYMOND MCGURY, BOLINGBROOK POLICE: "I know that Sergeant Peterson has discussed a recent discipline that he got. And I can't go into specifics. I can tell you that I disciplined him for a policy violation back in September that has absolutely nothing to do with any type of allegations of domestic violence, domestic abuse. It is totally a policy violation. And as a supervisor, I hold supervisors to a higher standard, so he was given discipline based upon an error in judgment." Stacy's E-Mail to
Steve Cesare who was former boyfriend to her sister Tina
Stacy Peterson Marriage Issues "I have been arguing quite a bit with my husband," Stacy wrote in an e-mail to family friend Steve Cesare 10 days before she disappeared. "As I mature with age I am finding that the relationship I am in is controlling, manipulative and somewhat abusive," she wrote in the Oct. 17 e-mail. "Tomorrow is our four-year anniversary and I'm not as excited as the years that have passed. "If you could keep me in your prayers I could use some wisdom, protection and strength." Cesare said he worried when he received these e-mails from Stacy, but was in disbelief at the reports that his friend went missing." [11/04/2007 "Friend: Missing woman unhappy"]

Stacy Peterson Marriage Issues LARRY KING: "All right, she sent you an e-mail, October 17th at 11:26 in the morning."
STEVE CESARE: "I was very alarmed. I -- I knew they had problems. Her phone calls were limited, so we -- we had to keep distant, you know, over the summer and whatnot. But the part where it says that he was becoming abusive, that concerned me. And I didn't know what to do because, of course, he's involved with the police department. And I figured it would just fall on deaf ears."

Drew Peterson on NBC's Matt Lauer
"I don't think that's her words," Drew Peterson said."
Drew Peterson:
"This is a madeup
e-mail"
"[Matt] Lauer asked Drew Peterson about an e-mail Stacy wrote to a friend [Steve Cesare] a week before her disappearance, in which she said, "I am finding that the relationship I am in is controlling, manipulative and somewhat abusive ... if you could keep me in your prayers I could use some wisdom, protection and strength." "I don't think that's her words," Drew Peterson said. "That doesn't sound like a thing that she would say. That vocabulary is certainly out of line for her. So I think this was fabricated as a lot of things have been throughout this case. This is a madeup e-mail" - [11/14/2007 "Peterson: Based on media, I'm as guilty as they come"]

Regarding the ring
GRETA VAN SUSTEREN: "What do you know about a ring that he'd given her?"
PAMELA BOSCO (FRIEND OF STACY PETERSON): "I was actually out of town on business that week she had come in, but it was enough that female employees at my business spoke to me about it when I did return, that it was supposedly a big ring, and they were wondering why, understanding the difficult relationship they were in, he would give her this ring. We knew that they were in a very terribly strained relationship. So when she showed up, they questioned it."

Stacy told her Aunt Candace who was visiting from California that she wanted a divorce from Drew Peterson
Stacy's
Aunt's Visit
"Stacy confided to her aunt [Candace Aikin, 48, of El Monte, Calif.] that her cop husband wanted to control her every move. Drew Peterson often asked his wife if she had a boyfriend, Aikin said. "She was very stressed in her relationship with Drew," Aikin said. "She was on anti-depressants, and she couldn't even sleep at night. When I saw her this last time [in October], she was having a very hard time coping with her life. She just looked lost and confused." Stacy Peterson told her aunt she wanted to divorce her husband, but didn't want to lose her children. Aikin said she last spoke to her niece on Oct. 21. "She sounded kind of frantic, like she wanted Drew out," Aikin said. "She was trying to kick him out. She said she would get back with me but she never did."

"I moved to AZ two years ago. Turned on Fox news yesterday [11/02/2007] and saw this. For the record, I haven't spoke with Stacy since her sisters funeral. Don't want you all to think I'm passing myself off as a close friend. But I do know this girl and my brother still talks to her since her two children and his two are cousins and visit each other. In fact they were all at that house last month [October 2007] when Aunt Candy was visiting."

GRETA VAN SUSTEREN: "When was the last time you spoke to or saw Stacy?
PAMELA BOSCO (FRIEND OF STACY PETERSON): "I spoke to Stacy on the Thursday [10/25/2007] before the weekend she disappeared. She had called me to talk to me about renting my rental property in Westman (ph). And at that time, I knew she was having difficulties, but I wanted to know more and I asked her what was going on. And she says, Well, I'm looking to move out with my children and find a place to live with them. And at that time, I said no to her because I already had people living on the property, and we then discussed other things that were happening in her life"

GRETA VAN SUSTEREN: "When was the last time you spoke to or saw Stacy?
PAMELA BOSCO (FRIEND OF STACY PETERSON): "PAMELA BOSCO (FRIEND OF STACY PETERSON): She [Stacy] was — at that time [Thursday 10/25/2007], she told me she was fearful of her situation with Drew and that she was trying to find a way to live on her own and looking for reasonable housing and find a way to do it based on she really didn't have a whole lot of money at hand because she said he had control of all the finances. So I had advised her actually to seek legal counsel at that point to do it legally so she, you know, didn't lose a chance (INAUDIBLE) losing the children"
