Marcy's Posting on GrtaWire Blog
GretaWire Blog poster named Marcy thinks she seen Stacy at grocery store in Peoria on Monday 11/12/07 ILL GretaWire Blog Comments subject: "More on Sgt. Peterson Resignation"
"Comment by Marcy, November 14th, 2007 at 3:15 pm, "Is Stacy’s hair still a blonde color? I swear I saw a young woman down here in the 309 area code. [Note: Area code '309' is Peoria, Illinois] She was at a local grocery store. She hauntingly looked like Stacy. Her hair was shoulder length. But it was completely medium dark brown. She was wearing a black coat. And all she did was stand there and stare at me. I did not do anything. I looked at her though. I think that she is very much alive!!!Look if I went to the police they would not believe me anyway!!! This happened on Monday night [Note: Monday was November 12th].You should check with her psychiatrist. I am sure that she has been in contact with her Dr. I feel once they get the results from the second autopsy on his third wife and they find out she was murdered than Stacy will come out of hiding."

Joel Brodsky says former Bolingbrook police officer Drew Peterson opened the letter Sunday [01/06/2008] after returning home from vacation. It was postmarked December 29th [12/29/2007]. The letter's anonymous author claims to have seen Stacy Peterson and another man in a parking lot in Florence, Kentucky, in November [11/18/2007]. The writer says when he approached the woman and showed her a picture of Stacy Peterson, she asked to be left alone and then fled on foot."

"Both Peoria city police and Peoria County sheriff’s officials said no reports had been filed regarding Stacy Peterson. They knew nothing of the alleged local sighting."
"Brodsky declined to release the letter itself. "We don’t want anything to impede the investigation" ILL "Drew Peterson received the letter on Wednesday and didn’t open it until Thursday, the attorney said. Peterson, 53, who has been named a suspect by authorities investigating his 23-year-old wife’s disappearance, immediately called the Illinois State Police and his attorneys to notify them, Brodsky said. The Chicago attorney said Drew Peterson hopes the letter, which describes a sighting of a possibly pregnant Stacy Peterson at a Peoria Kroger’s store on Nov. 12, will lead authorities to his wife. Brodsky released a written statement on Thursday describing the letter Drew Peterson said he received. The letter, dated Nov. 12 and carrying a Peoria postmark, detailed an encounter the writer had with Stacy Peterson, according to the statement. Stacy Peterson wasn’t alone and might have been trying to be noticed, the letter said. A man appeared to be with her. She was not shopping, but was standing in the dairy section looking at the letter writer. She appeared to have "a little pudge," the letter writer wrote, asking if she was pregnant. Brodsky declined to release the letter itself. "We don’t want anything to impede the investigation" he told The Associated Press."

Video from Peoria Kroger reqested by
State Police
ILL "Police request surveillance video in Peterson case" By Brock Spencer
"The Illinois State Police Department has requested surveillance video from a Peoria Kroger store in connection with the Stacy Peterson investigation. Stacy, the wife of former Bolingbrook Police Sergeant Drew Peterson, has been missing for nearly a month. Her husband is considered a suspect in her disappearance, but he says Stacy left him for another man. An anonymous letter with a Peoria postmark was sent to Drew Peterson's attorney detailing an encounter the writer had with Stacy on November 12 at a Peoria Kroger. A Kroger spokesman told us surveillance video from the Madison Park Kroger on Harmon Highway has been turned over to state police. State investigators would not comment specifically on the video, but did say it is under investigation."

Anonymous Peoria letter Drew Peterson said he got on 11/21/07 that was postmarked 11/19/07 is read on Nancy Grace!
So.......
Just who gave the so called anonymous Peoria letter to the Nancy Grace Show?
ILL JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL, GUEST HOST: "Now, adding to all of these shocking developments, there is a letter that Drew Peterson says he got, an anonymous letter, and it is a humdinger. Let me read it to you, and then we`re going to get reaction from our panel. "Dear Drew Peterson: Hello. I am writing to you and I am taking a wild chance communicating with you, but I do not care. I just want you to know that I believe I saw your wife, Stacy. I saw her at a local grocery store in Peoria. I ran into her on Monday night, November 12, 2007. She is alive!" Three exclamation points. "She was wearing a black coat, black pants and wearing white athletic shoes. I did not speak to her. I do not want to be identified. I saw her, though. She did not even have a grocery cart. She just stood in the aisle and stared at me with those big, beautiful brown eyes. Drew, is there any chance that she could be pregnant? She has a little pudge. Maybe that is why she is dressed in black." - JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL: "OK, let`s get to the second part of this letter because it`s hilarious. "I am very upset with Dr. Michael Baden. I hope that your lawyers will be able to get rid of him. I do not believe in anything he says. He needs to retire. He got paid pretty well for that. I am not fooled."

Drew calls Abrams
Peterson calls Dan Abrams 5:30pm on the air ILL "I [Dan Abrams] asked him why he is not helping to look for his missing wife because that could clear him if she is alive as he claims. Quote, he [Drew Peterson] said, "Well that would cause me to wrap up the children and travel nationwide. I just learned you can leave the country without your passport being checked. They check you when you come in. She could be anywhere. She's been sighted in all these places but they don't have the manpower to find her. I don't know what to do. I'm not going to go out checking fields and forests for her because I don't believe she's there." - "I [Dan Abrams] then asked Peterson. If he really believes that Stacy hated him so much, that she would stay in hiding and let him be accused of killing her, Peterson then said, quote, "I don't know, or was she afraid? I have one lawyer telling me she's either going to surface or she's going to go deeper because she's afraid."

Florence Police spokesman Capt. John McDermond said no one has contacted his department about the supposed sighting. McDermond first heard the story while watching the news Monday.
"Scheben said sheriff's deputies do not patrol the mall, which is under the jurisdiction of Florence police"
Oh "She fled on foot, according to the letter, and the writer said he then asked a Boone County Sheriff's deputy in the parking lot to look for her. According to the letter, which was provided to The Enquirer from the sheriff's office, the deputy refused to "help him that crooked cop", presumably meaning Joel Peterson." - "Boone County Sheriff's Spokesman Tom Scheben said the office was not aware of the claim until the newspaper report Monday. An Illinois reporter provided the office with a copy of the letter and envelope, and inquiries from Illinois and local media prompted the office to investigate. Scheben said sheriff's deputies do not patrol the mall, which is under the jurisdiction of Florence police. Deputies do respond there to assist Florence and to help customers who are locked out of their vehicles, however. Florence Police spokesman Capt. John McDermond said no one has contacted his department about the supposed sighting. McDermond first heard the story while watching the news Monday. "I did call the mall to see if they had been notified by anybody, and they had not been, either," McDermond said. Mall officials plan to review surveillance camera tape, he said." - "Scheben said no other deputies had reported contact with the anonymous letter-writer as of Tuesday morning."

Florence, Kentucky Police Department know nothing of reported sighting claimed in
12/29 letter
IL MARY FRANCES BRAGIEL, REPORTER, NEWSRADIO 780: "You know, I spoke to family members about this letter. They don`t believe it`s the least bit credible. I spoke to a spokesperson for the Boon County Sheriff`s Department, who says that the Florence -- you know, this took place in Florence, Kentucky, and the Florence, Kentucky Police Department handles that mall where Stacy Peterson was supposedly seen. And he asked his investigators. Nobody knows anything about the supposed conversation that the author of the letter had, you know, talking to an investigator, saying that he saw Stacy Peterson. I think the biggest question here, Nancy, is that the author of this letter claims they took a photo of Stacy Peterson. How come that photo wasn`t included in the letter?"

Brodsky said Drew Peterson called him from Florida 12/29
Brodsky said Peterson left Bolingbrook, Illinois on 12/26, said Peterson didn't drive through Cincinnati, Ohio and arrived in Orlando, FL on 12/29 IL NANCY GRACE: You know, I was taking a look at this typed letter, and it was sent from Cincinnati. Now, Rosie, let`s see the map. Didn`t your client, Mr. Peterson, just go on a trip to the magic kingdom down in Florida very close to Cincinnati? - JOEL BRODSKY, ATTORNEY FOR SUSPECT DREW PETERSON: Well, he didn`t take that route. And he was in Florida already at the time so when this letter was postmarked. - GRACE: Really? - BRODSKY: Yes. - GRACE: How do you know what route he took? - BRODSKY: Because he told me. And he was already in Florida. I had spoken to him down there. He was already in Florida on the 29th. - GRACE: In Florida on the 29th. And this was postmarked on the 29th. Question: what day did he leave? - BRODSKY: He left just after -- just after Christmas. The 26th. - GRACE: He left on the 26th. You`re certain? - BRODSKY: Yes.
NANCY GRACE: Sir, what route did your client take on the way down to Orlando? - BRODSKY: That I`m not 100 percent sure. I know he told me. I know he didn`t go near Cincinnati. And I know that he was, because I spoke to him, in Florida on the 29th.

GVS: Playing the message received by JB at his office. -
Caller: "I did see Stacy again on January 2nd. I saw her at 3:15 in the afternoon. I didn't speak to her again. When I saw her I stepped back, I walked over near her, looked her straight in the face, and I walked off." (Caller went on to say that they believe SP is staying at a place called the "Dream Center," which is a women's shelter in Peoria.) - GVS: Did you turn this over to the ISP? - JB: Yes I turned it over right away. - GVS: Have you sent anyone to Peoria to check this out to see if SP is staying at this Dream Center?" - JB: I have not sent anyone to the location -- that is part of the motive of releasing it to the press--so they will go look and see if she is there. We have no subpoena powers and our investigators cannot go into a women's shelter to discover if SP is registered there. - GVS: The message makes reference to "seeing SP again"--have you had previous messages from this person about seeing SP? - JB: From the context of the voicemail and the reference to Peoria and the comment of seeing her "again" we believe it is the person who sent the Thanksgiving letter about the Peoria grocery store sighting of Stacy.

If Stacy took $25,000 as Drew claimed, why would she be living in a homeless shelter?
Stacy Peterson is not living in a Peoria homeless shelter !! ILL "An official of the Peoria homeless shelter where Stacy Peterson was reportedly seen said it was a case of mistaken identity. "We know that she's missing and all that; we would have definitely connected with the proper authorities if needed," said Pam Schubach, chief executive officer of YWCA Peoria, which runs the shelter for women and children. "But it's a false sighting. The latest reported sighting was apparently by a woman who left a message Sunday on attorney Joel Brodsky's voice mail. "I'd just like you to know that I did see Stacy again on Jan. 2," the caller said on the message Brodsky replayed for the Tribune. "I looked her straight in the face and walked off." The caller did not leave a name or number."

ILL 02/19/2008 (Nancy Grace) "Convicted Cop Killer to Testify to Drew Peterson Grand Jury"
NANCY GRACE (HOST): Mr. Brodsky, whatever happened to all of these leads that you came up with or your client discovered? He`s always discovering evidence. You claim that she`s seen here, she`s seen there, but nothing ever comes of it. - JOEL BRODSKY: We`ve not -- nothing has ever borne any fruit, that`s true. We`re still looking. Nothing new has developed lately, neither from the state police or from our private investigators. One thing about her being found or being -- or coming forward -- I`ve asked that the state`s attorney`s office come forward and tell her that there would be no repercussions at all if she came forward, that she wouldn`t be any trouble...
NANCY GRACE (HOST): You said that last time...
JOEL BRODSKY: ... and they`ve refused to do that.
NANCY GRACE (HOST): ... you were on the show because it makes absolutely no sense.
JOEL BRODSKY: Well, there is a felony.
NANCY GRACE (HOST): ... because there are no charges, no criminal charges.
JOEL BRODSKY:: Yes, there is a felony.
JOEL BRODSKY: There`s a felony disorderly conduct law in Illinois that could easily be applied to this situation.
NANCY GRACE (HOST): Disorderly conduct? You know what?
JOEL BRODSKY: Felony disorderly conduct. It`s a felony, a class four felony punishable by.
NANCY GRACE (HOST): Under what theory?
JOEL BRODSKY: ... three years in the penitentiary.
NANCY GRACE (HOST): Quickly.
JOEL BRODSKY: Yes, causing a false investigation and false reports knowingly. And that`s what she would be doing if she knew an investigation was going on.
NANCY GRACE (HOST): I thought you said she just ran away with another man? How is that knowingly causing a felony-...
JOEL BRODSKY: By knowing that she`s been reported missing and not.
NANCY GRACE (HOST): You`re talking in circles.
JOEL BRODSKY: No, I`m not.

DREW PETERSON: Last time I talked to her she told me she was leaving with someone else. - DAN ABRAMS: Tell me about that conversation. What did she say? - DREW PETERSON: It was a phone call. She said that she found somebody else and she was leaving for a while, she said. - ABRAMS: Did you try to convince her not to leave? - DREW PETERSON: I much said, you know, “What am I supposed to do with me and the kids and what are we supposed to do now.” And she seemed kind of snotty in the phone conversation, so it was a pretty quick conversation. And then I was abruptly - she terminated it. - ABRAMS: When you say “snotty,” what do you mean? - DREW PETERSON: For her - I mean normally, she‘s kind of like giddy and up (UNINTELLIGIBLE). Her demeanor during the conversation was kind of snotty for her. - ABRAMS: How long did the conversation last? - DREW PETERSON: It was - maybe a couple minutes. That‘s it. - ABRAMS: And she hung up and that‘s the last time you heard from her? - DREW PETERSON: That‘s it.
ABRAMS: And what have you done to try to find her? - DREW PETERSON:
Oh, we have private investigators working right now. And basically, they‘re kind of limited to computer activity, or you know, monitoring charge cards and that type of thing. But I just don‘t have the resources to go traipsing the globe to, you know, find her at the beaches or, you know, other parts of the world where I think she possibly is. - ABRAMS: When you say that you don‘t have the resources, et cetera, I mean, this is your life, right? I mean your life has now become the - being the suspect in the case of your missing wife. I think there are a lot of people out there who would say, “My goodness, I would be doing everything I could, not just to clear myself, but also to make sure that she‘s OK. I mean she is the mother of my children.” - DREW PETERSON: Right. Well, my primary concern is my children. There‘s four children that are requiring constant care, every day. So I just can‘t abandon them to, you know, go traipsing the globe, looking for her. She could be next door hiding out in Sharon‘s house or she could be on the other side of the world. Joel has, in our observation, been treated unfairly by the Nancy Grace Show by interrupting him without allowing him to fully answer questions. "[Drew] Peterson claims they [Peterson and Anthony Cales] talked a few times, and that they may someday rekindle their friendship. "If Stacy comes back, we'll still be friends," he said. "And then everybody will be mad at her." In an attempt to hasten this, Peterson has put up a $25,000 reward for information leading to her safe return. And the investment is already paying off in numerous tips, he said, including one that she was spotted at a Sandals resort in Jamaica. "She's not in the bushes and weeds, like Sharon and Roy said," Peterson insisted, referring to his next-door neighbor, Sharon Bychowski, and son, Roy Taylor, who have spearheaded the volunteer search effort for Stacy."
