[Drew Peterson called to testify before the Grand Jury]
Peterson & Attorney
Grand Jury
Peterson
ILL "Eleven days after Stacy Peterson vanished, her police officer husband was called to testify Wednesday before a Will County grand jury. Hours later, Coroner Patrick O'Neil said the 2004 death of Bolingbrook police Sgt. Drew Peterson's previous wife should not have been ruled accidental." Accompanied by two lawyers, Drew Peterson spent about two hours Wednesday afternoon inside a Will County office building in downtown Joliet, then left hurriedly about 3:30 p.m. Peterson, 53, who was clean-shaven and dressed in a dark suit and tie, didn't respond to questions from reporters as he hustled out of the building with one attorney, then jumped into a waiting car driven by another lawyer. Lawyer: '... nothing to say' "This is an ongoing investigation," attorney Fred Morelli said as he left the building with Peterson. "We have nothing to say."

"A Bolingbrook police officer's brother has been called to testify before a Will County grand jury. NBC5's Lauren Jiggetts reported Tuesday night that according to the Chicago Tribune's Web site, a grand jury has subpoenaed Sgt. Drew Peterson's home and cell phone records. A family friend also told Jiggetts that Paul Peterson, Drew Peterson's brother, was also summoned to testify before a grand jury on Wednesday. The Will County State's Attorney's office would not confirm that information, however. The person who found the body of Peterson's third wife was also summoned to testify before the grand jury on Wednesday, Jiggetts reported."

"I really, really hope she's OK. But common sense says she's not."
ILL "Scott Rossetto testified Wednesday before a grand jury investigating the case. As CBS 2 West Suburban Bureau Chief Mike Puccinelli reports, it was the third time Rossetto was called before a grand jury to testify about what he knows about Stacy's disappearance more than three weeks ago. The first two times he did not take the stand, but this time he did." - "Rossetto's brother dated Stacy Peterson six years ago, before she met and married Drew Peterson. Three and a half weeks before she disappeared, Stacy contacted Rossetto and they began communicating regularly. But Rossetto says he was not romantically linked with Stacy. When asked if he feared that Drew Peterson might have hurt Stacy Peterson, Rossetto said he could not say, but also admitted that his gut says something is wrong. "To tell you the truth I don't even know if I should refer to her to her in the past and present tense. It's kind of aggravating," Rossetto said. "I really, really hope she's OK. Video Taped Testimony
ILL "Even though the evidence against him seems to be mounting, Drew Peterson rejects the idea that he'll be arrested in connection with the disappearance of his fourth wife, Stacy, and the death of his third wife. "It's hard to imagine you would be [arrested] if you haven't done anything wrong," the former Bolingbrook, Ill., police sergeant told NEWSWEEK in an exclusive interview Thursday." - ""I wish something would happen one way or the other," he said. "Let's get this going. Either get me or don't get me." - "He may soon get his wish—and he seems prepared for the worst, despite his insistence on his innocence. That's why he has arranged for his four youngest children to be taken in by a family member, whom he did not identify, and has set aside money for their care if daddy is taken away in handcuffs. "My children will be provided for," he said." "Peterson also revealed that his son from his first marriage, Stephen, 28, was called before the grand jury on Thursday [11/29/07 ?]. Peterson declined to comment about the specifics of his family members' testimony."

Peterson expects his sons' videotaped testimony will be submitted to a grand jury investigating Savio's death and Stacy's disappearance."
"But Sharon Bychowski, next-door neighbor of the Petersons, believes the 13-year-old has information that will be helpful to the authorities. A close friend of Stacy's who often watched her kids, Bychowski said she talked to the boy after her disappearance. "I think he heard them fighting. ILL "Rick Mims, Peterson's long-time friend, told a grand jury last week that he and Peterson bought three such containers for about $100 from AmeriCable, where they both worked part-time in 2003, according to a source close to the investigation. Peterson put two of the containers on a shelf in his garage, but after Stacy vanished, so did the containers, Mims testified. A state prosecutor and the grand jurors themselves questioned Mims for approximately 10 minutes about the containers, the source said, asking in particular about the items' handles. Mims turned over photographs of the containers, and ABC News obtained copies of those photos. The new pictures have reportedly prompted state investigators, local police and volunteer searchers to shift their attention from what was originally thought to be a blue barrel to a square blue container."

ILL "Mims, the one-time friend of embattled former cop Drew Peterson, made his second appearance before the special grand jury and said he is slated to come back for yet another at the end of next month. "They asked about the week I was there," said Mims, who holed up with Peterson immediately after the retired police sergeant's wife went missing Oct. 28. Mims then turned on Peterson and sold a story suggesting he suspects his old friend was behind the young wife's disappearance. Mims says he and Peterson have not spoken since. "I'm trying to distance myself from that whole area there," said Mims, who was accompanied to the court appearance by his son." Following his appearance, Mims said he stood by the recent Enquirer story, saying, "Everything in the Enquirer is true."

ILL "Robinson was with the two women in an apartment complex elevator about 3:30 a.m. Monday [01/14/2008] when he quarreled with his ex-girlfriend, 32, over a phone call and began choking her, said Bolingbrook police Lt. Ken Teppel. When her friend, age 40, tried to intervene, Robinson allegedly punched her in the face, authorities said. Robinson dragged his ex-girlfriend and the friend into the apartment of a third woman and again tried to choke the ex-girlfriend, Teppel said, and when the friend tried to separate them, Robinson punched her in the face several times, knocking her to the floor. Robinson left, and when police arrived, they saw bruises and cuts on the friend's face, Teppel said.
Bolingbrook police sought a warrant for Robinson's arrest on battery charges, but given his friendship with Peterson, Glasgow referred the case to state police, Teppel said.
He said the charge of witness intimidation was not lodged by his department. Court records show the intimidation charge was lodged after Robinson was accused of calling the third woman and threatening to hurt her if she spoke to investigators. Robinson has a lengthy history of arrests on a variety of charges, including a 1993 conviction for unlawful delivery of a controlled substance for which he was sentenced to 4 years probation."

ILL "Meanwhile, a friend of Drew Peterson's was released Wednesday [01/16/2008] from the Will County Adult Detention Facility after posting 10 percent of a $50,000 bail after he was accused of beating his ex-girlfriend and her friend, then allegedly threatening a witness. Michael J. Robinson, 34, of Bolingbrook was charged with felony intimidation, misdemeanor battery and domestic battery, according to police and court documents."
"His [Michael Robinson] friendship with [Drew] Peterson came to light after Ric Mims, a one-time friend of the former sergeant, told the National Enquirer that Robinson provided Peterson with a cell phone after police seized his old one as part of a search warrant. Mims said Peterson and Robinson behaved suspiciously, communicating in handwritten notes. Peterson said the only note passed contained his cell phone number. Peterson could not be reached for comment Wednesday but said last week he has known Robinson for nearly two decades. Gary Marcolina, Drew's best man at his wedding refused to talk to the media

ILL 01/15/2008 Craig Wall (www.myfoxchicago.com) reporting FOX NEWS EXCLUSIVE (VIDEO):
"Drew Peterson's Will With Kathleen Savio Subpoenaed by Grand Jury"

CRAIG WALL: "The date of the WILL, March 2, 1997, nearly seven years later almost to the day Kathleen Savio would be found dead in her bathtub. That simple handwritten statement would become her Last Will and Testament." - "It had been a bitter divorce. Her husband was in the middle of an adulteress affair with 19 year old Stacy Peterson and while Kathleen remembered to change the beneficiaries on her life insurance there was still that WILL." - "So despite the divorce, Drew Peterson got all her furniture, jewelry and the money from the sale of the home, about $288,000 thousand dollars. He was also named guardian of the children's million dollar trust fund." - "But take a close look at the will."
DREW PETERSON: "There really wasn't nothing sinister about it, just something simple if something happen if we were on vacation." - "I wrote up the WILL with Kathleen's instructions and we simply had a couple friends that were over to witness it and that was that simple."

CRAIG WALL: "Those friends turned out to be Peterson's former partners in the Bolingbrook Police Department and according to the Savio family, Drew's best man at their wedding. Alex Morelli, Drew's former partner says he wants nothing more to do with Drew and has nothing positive to say about him. He said Drew has turned his world upside down. Best man, Gary Marcolina took off when we tied to talk to him. The old Will names James B. Carrol, Drew’s Uncle, names him executor and gives him full control. He confirmed the account that he was going on vacation but declined to comment further. Once the Will was admitted into court, Carrol promptly fired Kathleen's attorney and discharged another lawyer appointed by the court to watch out for the best interest of the children. So Mr. Carrol had an obligation not to be looking out for Drew but to look out for Kathleen."
CRAIG WALL: "So who does it appear the executor was looking out for in this case?"

"We followed her a few times. He'd have me watch her a few times at work while he did whatever it is he needed to do. "I was helping him. I have a site administrator that helps me, but the writing and responding is mine. - GRETA: DId DP have any known access to her [Kathleen Savio] house at the time when she died? - RIC MIMS: I know that I watched her at work to be sure she did not leave while he went to her house to retrieve a few things. Don't know if was to retrieve something inside or outside. That would have been in late December 2003 or very early January 2004. He does know how to use a locksmith kit. Years ago we had that conversation. He has a little black case full of little picks--they look like dental tools. He showed me it when he was showing me his gun collection. He told me he was trained to use it. I've been before the GJ three times and I'm going back one more time that I know about. I've talked to SA about many things, such as whether DP did any parking ticket fixing and if the blue Dodge truck would fit into a garage with the camper top on it. (?) .

Grand Jury Subpoena Served ILL 02/16/2008 (www.suburbanchicagonews.com) "New subpoena served"
"A convicted cop killer reputed to have organized crime connections was subpoenaed to testify at the grand jury investigating the fate of Drew Peterson's last two wives. State police served Anthony "Bindy" Rock, 68, with his papers Friday, a source said. Contacted Friday night, Rock declined to comment. Rock was a central figure in an unsanctioned undercover investigation Peterson undertook while he was on loan from the Bolingbrook Police Department to the Metropolitan Area Narcotics Squad in 1985. That investigation led to Peterson's indictment on charges of official misconduct and failure to report a bribe."

"[Anthony Bindy] Rock was a central figure in an unsanctioned undercover investigation Peterson undertook while he was on loan from the Bolingbrook Police Department to the Metropolitan Area Narcotics Squad in 1985. That investigation led to Peterson's indictment on charges of official misconduct and failure to report a bribe. Peterson was fired following his indictment when the Bolingbrook Police and Fire Commission found him guilty of those charges, as well as disobedience and conducting a self-assigned investigation. On different occasions, two appellate court judges ruled Peterson's firing was excessive. The criminal charges against him were dropped and he got his job back."
"Peterson's trouble from two decades ago started when he revealed to his supervisors that he'd embarked on a solo narcotics investigation of [Anthony Bindy] Rock. A state police undercover officer was already working on Rock, according to court documents, but Peterson went ahead with his probe and failed to tell his superiors until it hit a dead end. "You had better take your guns off. I have something to say that's real bad," Peterson allegedly told his supervisors at the time. And Peterson's former supervisor with the narcotics squad, retired state police Lt. Col. Ronald Janota accused Peterson of leaking the state agent's identity to Rock."

ILL 02/21/2008 (suburbanchicagonews.com) "Peterson's 3rd wife's death ruled a homicide"
"An autopsy performed on the three-year dead body of Drew Peterson’s third wife revealed the woman was a victim of a homicide — contradicting the results of a 2004 state police investigation."
"The news left Peterson dumbfounded.
“You’re kidding me,” said the embattled ex-cop moments after the results of the autopsy conducted on his third wife, Kathleen Savio, were released. “Unbelievable,” he said. “That’s hard to believe.” He then excused himself, saying, “I got to make a bunch of calls.” He said he is prepared to go to jail if the police show up at his door to arrest him. “Let them do it,” Peterson said. “Everything’s ready. Everything’s in place. “Let them do their thing,” he added, almost daring police and prosecutors to pull the trigger on charges. “The thing is, do what you got to do,” he said defiantly. “You roll the dice, I’ll roll the dice.”

Immunity from prosecution!
ILL 02/21/2008 (suburbanchicagonews.com) "Peterson's 3rd wife's death ruled a homicide"
"Also on Thursday [02/21/2008], convicted cop killer Anthony “Bindy” Rock appeared before that grand jury, a pair of sources said. Confronted at the office of his attorney, John Schrock, neither he nor his lawyer would confirm or deny that Rock testified. The sources said the 68-year-old Rock, who is reputed to have organized crime connections, received immunity from prosecution in exchange for his testimony. Again, neither man would confirm this was the case.
"Schrock did accuse Peterson of “shaking Bindy down for money” in 1985, when Peterson was an undercover officer with the Metropolitan Area Narcotics Squad. Peterson dismissed the allegation, saying, “It doesn’t matter. Whatever he says don’t mean nothing.” Peterson did express his appreciation for Rock. “I always liked Bindy, just because he was a character,” he said. “He was a known criminal, but he had a personality that made him fun to work."

ILL 02/28/2008 (gretawire.foxnews.com) "UPDATE…..DREW PETERSON STORY"
February 28th, 2008 2:38 PM Eastern - by Greta Van Susteren
"We have just learned: ...the boys of Drew Peterson, subpoenaed yesterday morning to testify before the grand jury at 9am this morning did NOT testify. Their testimony has been postponed. We are attempting to get more information. My guess? that the boys hired a lawyer and that the lawyer got it postponed in order that he could debrief the boys and advise them of their rights etc…this would be routine reason to postpone."
"UPDATE: 2:59pm - It was just confirmed to me the reason for the postponement of the boys’ grand jury testimony - it is so that they can get a lawyer to advise them or their rights and to explain the grand jury process to them. They will not get individual lawyers but rather the boys will share one."

Brodsky "said a special agent with the state police made the deal to keep the children away from the grand jury" ILL 02/29/2008 (www.suburbanchicagonews.com) "Peterson's sons to face grand jury"
"The state police welshed on Drew Peterson, the lawyer for the suspected killer said Thursday, and moved to drag his teenage sons before a grand jury after assuring him otherwise. They're already been interviewed at length by the child advocacy center," Peterson's attorney, Joel Brodsky said of the ex-cop's teenage sons, Thomas and Kristopher. "Drew allowed that so they wouldn't have to go before the grand jury. "They've doing it anyway," Brodsky said. "So they're going back on their word." Brodsky, who made his comments en route to John F. Kennedy airport after appearing with Peterson on the "Today" show, said a special agent with the state police made the deal to keep the children away from the grand jury. The two boys reportedly were to be called before the grand jury Thursday but the appearance was canceled. "I wish I could comment on the delay," Brodsky said. "There's a court order prohibiting me from commenting."
