ILL GRETA VAN SUSTEREN, HOST: Now, Ric, you have been standing by your friend, Sergeant Peterson, since the very beginning. You thought that Stacy ran away. Do you still think that? - RIC MIMS, FRIEND OF SGT. DREW PETERSON: Yes, I do. - VAN SUSTEREN: Why? - MIMS: It's just a tough situation to be in. He's a good friend of mine, and I just keep hoping that she's alive somewhere and will show up to clear this all up. But as time goes by, you know, everybody has their suspicions. - VAN SUSTEREN: Is there anything that Sergeant Peterson has said or done in front of you that you think is unusual? - MIMS: No, he's very calm, cool, collected, has done nothing to make me think that there's any foul play." - "I've talked to him several times on the phone since I seen him — the last time I seen him physically was Saturday evening. But I've talked to him every day a couple times on the phone, and he seems to be doing fine."

ILL GRETA VAN SUSTEREN, HOST: Has he done anything to make you think that he was waiting for a phone call from his wife or might be looking for his wife or used a term to show that — even that, you know, that she — that she's alive, say anything at all to you? - RIC MIMS, FRIEND OF SGT. DREW PETERSON: No. I haven't got any type of intuition or anything from what he's said that he's — there's any foul play. Nothing he's said to me has given me any reason to doubt that what he's told me is the truth. I have my own opinion of what's happened, but I'm just — like you, I'm waiting for Stacy to be found. - VAN SUSTEREN: And what's your opinion? - MIMS: I hope that she just ran off. I really do. I keep praying that that's the case. That's why I came on the show tonight, was to make sure that the search doesn't continue just here in Bolingbrook but it continues nationwide. I just want to make sure that everybody knows out there that if Stacy is at a beach, even if you think she looks like Stacy, call us. Call the tip line. Let somebody know. It's worth investigating.

Well, at first, when Drew first told me that, and that was that Tuesday [10/30/2007] night, I was still kind of in shock about the whole thing. So the main thing was that I wanted to help take care of the kids, let him get his head together. But as details came out, like with his timeline not matching up with the cars being in the driveway, and then the car shows up over at Clow, which is, like, a five-minute walk from his house, and then the... Ric Mims thinks Drew is in serious trouble ILL MIKE BROOKS: Now, you -- initially, you were a big supporter of Drew.
RIC MIMS, FRIEND OF DREW PETERSON: "I was. And I still -- Drew`s still a friend. It`s just the facts aren`t adding up. And at one point, your common sense has got to take over. (INAUDIBLE) listen, you`re my friend, but I think you`re into some serious trouble and I`m just going to back away from you for a while."

Ric Mims and AMW flying taking pictures ILL MIKE BROOKS: What are you all going to do to try to find Stacy.
RIC MIMS, FRIEND OF DREW PETERSON: "Sunday [11/18/2007], me and Jon Leiberman from "America`s Most Wanted," we`re going up, flying all day. We`ve got some high-resolution digital cameras we`re taking up with us. We`re really going to search some areas that me and Drew flew over and some areas that he frequented. And mainly, keep Stacy`s picture in the news. Keep the story alive. And I`d like to ask if there`s anybody out in the Bolingbrook area that would like to come out and volunteer or donate food for the searchers, they could donate to the Westbrook church."

ILL 11/24/2007 America's Most Wanted featured Stacy Missing story

"Ric Mims [former friend of Drew Peterson] revealed a secret to us with potential major ramifications. He told us when Kathleen Savio was found dead in the bathtub that Drew [Peterson] told the cops he had an alibi."

RIC MIMS: "He [Drew Peterson] mentioned to me that he was with the kids and that Stacy was his alibi.
'I told him sucks to be you now because Stacy's gone and they're re-opening the case.' I mean if she ran away, and that's your alibi, you're kind of screwed."

Sharon Bychowski told NEWSWEEK about Peterson kids hearing Drew and Stacy fighting and then stop fighting ILL "[Drew] Peterson told NEWSWEEK that police recently interviewed his 13- and 14-year-old sons by Savio for three hours. Peterson expects his sons' videotaped testimony will be submitted to a grand jury investigating Savio's death and Stacy's disappearance."
"But Sharon Bychowski, next-door neighbor of the Petersons, believes the 13-year-old has information that will be helpful to the authorities. A close friend of Stacy's who often watched her kids, Bychowski said she talked to the boy after her disappearance. "I think he heard them fighting. And then he heard them stop fighting," she told NEWSWEEK. "I have no doubt that kid knows something."
NOTE: Sharon is quoted in the Chicagao Tribune 12/13/07 "She {Sharon] said she never talked to Kris about his parents fighting and was offended by the article, which she said "left Kris out to dry."

Mims says Peterson is pretty much a caveman type style ILL JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL, GUEST HOST: OK, I can tell you what he told "People" magazine. Maybe you can elaborate on that. - MIMS: All right. - VELEZ-MITCHELL: He told "People" magazine that his dad was a Marine and that when he was a child, when his dad woke up in the morning, his mom would make his bed immediately, the family bed, and he expected all his wives to do the same thing and was disappointed that they didn`t. - MIMS: That`s a good -- that`s about it right there. That sums it up. - VELEZ-MITCHELL: So a chauvinist? - MIMS: Just that he was the man and she was the woman type deal, you know, pretty much a caveman-type style"

Mims thinks the trucker story is a red herring ILL JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL, GUEST HOST: What is your take on this whole trucker story that we`ve been hearing? - RIC MIMS, FRIEND OF DREW AND STACY PETERSON: I really don`t even want to comment on it. I think it`s a red herring. - VELEZ-MITCHELL: You think it is a red herring. Why do you say that? You go way back with Drew Peterson. Let me ask you this. What is your relationship like now? How did it devolve or evolve given all this stuff? - MIMS: It`s strained right now. I haven`t talked to Drew in quite some time now. - VELEZ-MITCHELL: Because you think he`s guilty? - MIMS: I`m letting the state police do their job."

ILL JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL, GUEST HOST: Well, why wouldn`t you talk to him if you didn`t think he was guilty. - MIMS: I don`t have anything to say to him. - VELEZ-MITCHELL: Are you upset by everything that`s happened? This is a very insular community. Wife number three who died mysteriously in the bathtub lives about four blocks away from where Drew Peterson lives now. They in fact had had some run-ins. Stacy and Kathleen Savio. He was dating Stacy while he was still married to Kathleen. He`s a serial cheater, does that upset you what he has done to this community? - MIMS: The whole community is upset right now. It`s a circus out there, it is, it`s a circus between the media and just the things that`s going on out there. What Drew`s doing. - VELEZ-MITCHELL: So obviously you share the disgust of the community over what`s transpired? - MIMS: Yes."

I know that Steve was at a party at a friends house the night Stacy disappeared. I read the enquirer piece and I read the supposed comments from Mims. I don't know if that is really Mims commenting. If so, it does sound like Steve was there at some point not long after Stacy's disappearance, but I can't say for sure if he was or not. I know Steve had the 4 kids for a week or so a few days after Stacy disappeared, but gave them back to Drew before Steve went to Mexico which was approximately November 10th."

Ric Mims quits Peterson Charity ILL "On Wednesday night [12/12/2007], Mims quit the board of a newly established Stacy Peterson charity, he said. Sharon Bychowski, Peterson's next-door neighbor and Stacy's good friend, said she and fellow board members were furious about the National Enquirer article, which focused on Peterson's son Kris. The story quoted Mims saying Kris told Bychowski that on the day Stacy disappeared, he heard his parents fighting in their bedroom before "suddenly things got quiet." Bychowski disputed the account. She said she never talked to Kris about his parents fighting and was offended by the article, which she said "left Kris out to dry." [See 11/30/07 Newsweek]

[Ric Mims told a grand jury that Drew Peterson bought three containers for about $100 from AmeriCable in 2003 and now those containers are missing]
MORE VIEWS OF BLUE CONTAINER PICS
HERE
ILL "Rick Mims, Peterson's long-time friend, told a grand jury last week that he and Peterson bought three such containers for about $100 from AmeriCable, where they both worked part-time in 2003, according to a source close to the investigation. Peterson put two of the containers on a shelf in his garage, but after Stacy vanished, so did the containers, Mims testified. A state prosecutor and the grand jurors themselves questioned Mims for approximately 10 minutes about the containers, the source said, asking in particular about the items' handles. Mims turned over photographs of the containers, and ABC News obtained copies of those photos. The new pictures have reportedly prompted state investigators, local police and volunteer searchers to shift their attention from what was originally thought to be a blue barrel to a square blue container."

"Everything in the Enquirer is true."
ILL "Mims, the one-time friend of embattled former cop Drew Peterson, made his second appearance before the special grand jury and said he is slated to come back for yet another at the end of next month. "They asked about the week I was there," said Mims, who holed up with Peterson immediately after the retired police sergeant's wife went missing Oct. 28. Mims then turned on Peterson and sold a story suggesting he suspects his old friend was behind the young wife's disappearance. Mims says he and Peterson have not spoken since. "I'm trying to distance myself from that whole area there," said Mims, who was accompanied to the court appearance by his son." Following his appearance, Mims said he stood by the recent Enquirer story, saying, "Everything in the Enquirer is true."

"15 minutes of fame is turning into 15 weeks of hell"
ILL "Recently, Mims sold his story to the National Enquirer, which caused tension with Stacy Peterson's supporters. Before he testified, Mims said in a phone interview that pressure surrounding the case was starting to get to him. "Fifteen minutes of fame is turning into 15 weeks of hell," he said. "I'm sick of it. I want to go back to my life." Mims, who has been living out of a hotel room since he left Drew Peterson's house, said he was asked to reappear before the grand jury the last week of January."
